Works great on my Ranger pickup. Can't drive everyday due to illness. This keeps the battery charged and ready to go when needed.

Excellent Value! Performs as well as chargers costing far more!
First things first. This is a battery charger, not a jump starter. Do not try to use this to jump start your car. Now, with that out of the way, as a HAM radio operator, and an RVer, I have multiple battery banks to maintain, small and large. I currently run two other smart charges from a name brand, a 1 Amp and a 5 Amp. They are excellent units, but cost way more than this one does. That brand has a 10A charger that I was looking at for the LiFePO batteries in my fifth wheel, but that cost (3X of this one) was a bit out of my budget, and I made do with the 5 Amp model which worked, just slowly. When I saw this one I grabbed it immediately. When it arrived, I unboxed it. Not gonna lie, it doesn't feel as solid as the name brand. The plastic case feels lighter, and for the lower cost, I'm betting it won't be as durable as the name brand. BUt I can buy three of these for one of those, so it doesn't have to be.What it does have to do is perform. And it does.I tested it on lead acid, LiFePo, AGM, and deep cycle lead acid batteries. Each time, I selected the proper mode using the mode switch, and it did the rest. I did not have any 24V batteries to test, so I didn't test that function. The display is very informative, letting you know your battery's voltage, the current flow, temperature, and other charging parameters. Once the quick charge is completed, the charger automatically shifts into trickle charge mode to avoid overcharging the battery. There is a way to set it up as a float charger to maintain the charge on your batteries over time, which is a nice feature. I don't need that since I have solar panels on the RV, and the BMS handles the float charge automatically. This charger has a repair feature as well, using a pulse charge sequence to try and restore capacity to older batteries. Other reviews have said that feature works pretty well, but I haven't had a chance to work with it just yet, so I can't speak to that. The 15A rating appears to be accurate; I put a mostly discharged LiFePO battry on the charger, and it was fully charged in 6 hours when I went back to check on it, so the charger does it's main function. The bottom line is simple. For $30, this is a capable smart charger for multiple battery types, and a very good deal.

Temperature compensated, full feature Battery Charger
This is a review of the YONHAN 15-Amp Battery Charger. This battery charger is does quite a lot for the dollars spent. It charges standard lead acid batteries, Absorbable Glass Matt (AGM), GEL, ( gel-like electrolyte instead of a liquid, making them safer and more stable). and Lithium Ferrous Phosphate (LiFePO) at either 12 or 24 volts. Most vehicles are 12 volts. It also has a repair function that attempts to de-sulfate an old battery and bring it back to life.Provided that the battery is not too far gone, de-sulfating actually does work. Why do you need to know this? Here is why.The average life expectancy of my vehicle, motorcycle, lawnmower, off road, and boat batteries are10 years.Yours can last that long tooHere’s how:Always keep them charged fullyDe-sulfate them regularly.Batteries in storage should be on a reliable trickle charger. Not keeping the batteries charged fully will lead to deposits on the lead plates, eventually coating the plate fully making the lead plate useless.Repair mode is actually a high frequency wave electrical pulse that literally destroys the sulfate deposits on a molecular level.I’ve charged at least six batteries so far with this charger and it works great. The instructions are terrible. They use the word vulcanization when they actually mean. Sulfation, or sulfated.(Vulcanization is used in the manufacture of rubber products. Tires, etc)It also says it has a “water bottle mode” under Mode selection. How cool is that? Not sure what that is though. The power cord is a little on the thin side.I personally would not use this charger for a long term trickle charge. By long term I mean months. The fan is always on and having it run months on end is asking for fan failure.Despite the instructions and power cord,The charger is very attractively priced, the repair function is definitely a plus and the various stages while charging make this charger a good buy.

Product Reviewed: YONHAN 15-Amp Battery Charger LiFePO4 Trickle Car Battery Charger 12V 24V Fully-Automatic Smart Battery Chargers, Lead Acid Portable 9-Stage Smart Battery Maintainer with Temp Compensation(Black) for $40 less 30% coupon.TL;DR; Charges OK; Busy Display; Range of optionsI was just expanding my range of chargers and wanted something that could handle LiON if I ended up with a 12V version.I’m a bit suspicious of these smart chargers but this one does seem to work. I tried it out on an old UPS battery that is out of good health but still useful. I charged this on “motorcycle battery” setting and it started off in a de-sulphate stage and withing a few minutes claimed full charge and the charger must have been in a float/maintenance mode as the battery got quite warm in the “full” state after a couple of hours. The display is pretty busy but clear enough about what’s going on although I wasn’t able to verify the current output. The clips are chrome plated steel where I’d prefer copper contacts but alas this is the way of things. No surprises and a pretty compact kit. 5 Stars. How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.
