Excellent stickness & great price, but too thin for surfaces that curve slightly
I’ve just recently used these number plate sticky pads for mounting my new number plates, and while they work well overall, I found that the 3mm thickness was a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong though, if you have a nice flat surface that your number plate sits on then these are absolutely fine. The adhesive is really strong and holds the plate very securely in place, no matter what the weather is, as these pads can withstand both ends of the extreme temperature ranges, which is exactly what you’d want from a product like this. The adhesive on these is so strong that if you make a mistake it's very unforgiving. If you stuck your plate down slightly bent and you immediately tried to pull it off it will probably be too late, that's how sticky they really are. I actually ended up doing that and boy did I have trouble getting the plate back off. You can say goodbye to the pads though as you will end up ruining them if you do have to take them off. I would suggest getting a spare pack anyway as at this price it's very affordable to do just that.On the front of my car the plate is curved, and after sticking the first set of these pads down at one end, I realised that the other set of pads just wouldn't be thick enough to cope with sticking the whole plate down as it curves back down. After great trouble and ruining the sticky pads I had on there, I managed to get the first set of pads off. What I then did was double up the pads back to back and then they were thick enough to cope with the curve comfortably without putting any strain on the plate so that it didn't cause a problem. As you can see, there is a way of getting around the problem by doubling up on the pads, and I don't mind doing that because they are so cheap, but Ideally it would be good to have thicker pads in the first place, or better still offer two depths of the pad and then it would make them more versatile to use for other tasks where you need to stick something down with a really strong hold. It's just this issue that prevents this getting 5 stars as otherwise these are absolutely fine.

Does not stick/hold
Terrible product, barely had any stickiness to it. Couldn’t hold my number plate on my car for more than 2 minutes. Terrible product!

Very sticky!
I previously obtained a similar product, really just to keep in the car in case a number plate became loose but I had a couple of concerns about them. The earlier product, when tested by me, was not very sticky until after about 24 hours (perhaps sooner) and they were very thin, so perhaps not ideally resistant to vibrations, though double-sided tape (even thinner) is often used for this purpose. This product is better on both counts. The pads, although thin, are thicker and they are immediately extremely sticky so I’d have no concerns about using them then driving off.At just over £3 for 10 pads, I’d say they were good value.
