I bought this set as a gift for my nine-year-old son, who is a Lego fanatic and usually finishes sets the same day he gets them. We've been trying to find other types of model kits that can hold his attention the same way, and this one was a totally unexpected win. He sat down and completed 99.9% of it in one day—with no help from us. That’s never happened with non-Lego sets before!We’ve tried several wood model kits in the past, but the vague instructions always frustrated him. This one was different—the directions were clear and easy enough for him to follow on his own, and once he got started, he didn’t want to stop. He never complained about fragile or flimsy pieces, and the set actually feels sturdy, which is a big plus since it wasn’t cheap (around $45).It’s definitely more than I usually spend on a model kit, but the enjoyment he got from it—and the overall quality—made it well worth the price. I’d happily pay the same amount again for another set from this company.He still has to finish the sails, but he had such a blast building it that I had to leave a review and beg this company to make more like it!

Instructions were easy to follow. Wood cut nicely so easy to put together. Only needed glue on two parts.Was a fun project for me and my 9 year old child.

This is the second one I've done; the first one I did not paint or color or glue in any way. The second one I am painting/coloring and glueing in certain areas to add to the rigidity of the model. Here's what I've got so far (I will update photos along the way).

Fun as most good builds should be.Expect a little jumping through boards to find pieces. A little frustrating but I can appreciate the efficient use of material.Directions could be a little bit better with higher resolution pics. My eyes are not as young as they used to be. Even with reading glasses I had to use a magnifying glass.All in all… A total fun build.

First and most important thing- have gel precision glue handy! Parts do not always like to stay where you put them. Do the base first so you have a place to set it down in between steps or in my case painting as i assemble. I got some glow in the dark paint as well so the ghost faces can glow at night with the sails. Have fun- take it slow (it’s not a race) there are tons of tiny easy to break parts so be gentle. Fun gift for pirate lovers. My next ship is going to be trying a metal one (in the future).

Enjoyed putting this model together. Easy to follow instructions and sturdy parts. Only criticism is that the bottom of the hull is open and it would have been better for it to have been finished properly. Rigging was easy to do.
