⚙️ Elevate your Expeditions—where strategy meets thrilling chaos!
The Gears of Corruption expansion for Stonemaier Games' Expeditions introduces new strategic layers with secret map bonuses, a corrupted mech threat, and two new mechs. It supports up to six players, accelerates early gameplay with starting resources and a hero worker, and includes dual-layered playmats for enhanced stability—all designed to fit perfectly into the original game box.

Worthwhile upgrade
This is an excellent expansion to an already stellar base game. The additional mech, cards and starting acceleration have become a staple. Generally speaking, I feel very satisfied with the value Stonemaier expansions add above their base games.

Polishes out all the rough edges from the base game
There were really only two aspects of the base game that we had an issue with, but this expansion ironed them both out better than we could have expected!- The start of the game is a lot faster, with everyone starting out with a "wild color" worker. This especially helps in 4-5 player games where you need to gain workers early on, now it's not so bad if you don't.- Map tokens mean something now. Originally, map tokens didn't really have a use, but they really are beneficial now giving you an instant benefit, and more mechs do things with the tokens. This expansion brings the game from good, to great!

Great addition to Expeditions!
Gears of corruption does a great job of improving the mech mats in the base game as well as adding variety with a new mechanic, 2 new mechs and a new worker type. The new mechanic adds a lot for my wife and I's 2 player sessions of expeditions, adding another mech to the board as well as more opportunity to vanquish. The new hero workers also do a great job of speeding up the start of game by giving everyone a worker to be used anywhere. Great expansion and we would highly recommend it if you usually play 2 player!

Great expansion
The only gameplay that really changes is the corrupted mech that takes a turn moving as a player. It adds an extra layer of fun especially for a two player game.

An Expansion That Makes a Great Game Greater
Expeditions was already one of my top games of 2023, but Gears of Corruption really elevated it and it’s still seeing several plays at my table in recent months. The addition of the Hero Worker and the starting resources really make the beginning of the game feel smoother. Oh, and the new characters and mechs add more variety and new strategies to an already massive base game. Highly recommended!
