De'Longhi Magnifica Start Fully Automatic Espresso Machine, Black

I had a Magnifica S that I bought 5 years ago. It was in need of major service so I bought this machine to replace it. Major technology upgrade. A great machine with tons of functionality. Easy to use. Coffee is really good as well as the ability to have lattes and cappuccino.Would definitely recommend.

This machine makes wonderful coffees, lattes and cappuccinos! Easy to use once you know how to use. It is a high quality machine and requires frequent descaling and filter changes, but well worth it. I wish the water container held a bit more water as we drink coffee a couple times a day. Love this machine and when you do have questions, their customer service is very patient and helpful.

The media could not be loaded. Just really fantastic coffee easy to use easy to clean. A nice variety of drinks. The milk carafe is easy to clean and works well for foaming milk. I’m extremely happy with this machine.

I really hate to write negative reviews but want to save others from the frustration we have experienced.While I will admit it was cappuccino, espresso and affogato bliss for four months, that is all our $700 got us. The machine started to throw multiple alert lights that disabled its ability to make any drinks at all. It was stuck in an endless loop, requiring us to use the hot water, then after that cycle the same alert lights came back. Over and over again.We followed all of the manual instructions in setting up the machine, did the water testing, used the filter (and only used filtered water in it), we descaled it when the light came on. There are only two people in our house using it, so it is not an over use issue.After a one hour video chat with trouble shooting, they determined that the machine could not be reprogrammed and must be sent back to be repaired! I explained that the machine was only 4 months old and I registered it for the warranty but I was told the warranty only covers repairs not replacement.We had to wait 5-7 business day for them to ship us a box and label and we returned it on February 26th. It is now March 10th and we have not heard a word from Delonghi about how long this repair will take. We had to purchase another coffee pot as a replacement since we have no idea how long this is going to go on. This level of service is disappointing and does not align with the high standards I expected from a brand like Delonghi.

This is a beginner auto machine, but it makes good espreso and cappuccinos. The first one that we received had a malfunctioning extractor, so I though that it was junk for high price. When I contacted the manufacturer, they did a video call so that they could see how it was operating. They overnighted a part that was suspected to be the issue. That part did not fix the issue, so I returned the unit to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement unit works flawlessly.My wife prefers unsweetened coconut milk and she uses that for cappuccinos, though the manufacturer said that they have NOT tested it with coconut milk, only soy milk. The oat milk barista-blend also works pretty well in the frother, but that stuff is expensive and has a short shelf-life. I bought an extra milk unit for less than $30 from DeLonghi so that I can have one loaded in the fridge with milk and my wife can have hers loaded with coconut milk and we can just plug whichever one we want in without having to prime or clean the connection point. That is really handy! Froth with plain milk is amazingly good for an auto frother.The coffee that it produces had a large amount of crema and silky mouthfeel. Flavor is obviously going to depend on the beans. Using the same beans that I used with a quality drip unit produces a different flavor than the drip, which to me is not as good as the drip, but I have not quite dialed in my temperature setting.Espresso from this machine is really, really high quality for an auto machine, especially a beginner one like this. Unit is easy to clean and seems to be well-made for the price-point. Has quite a few customizable settings, as well to dial in your brew.Aside from the initial dud out of the box, I am overall very happy with the machine and customer service from the manufacturer.

I debated for months whether to spend this much on a coffee maker, but I’m happy I did! The regular coffee it makes is amazing and the espresso options are easy to customize. The only flaws are that you have to brew the remaining beans in the grinder before you’re able to swap the type of beans and for two people, I need to fill the water tank every other day.

You quickly get spoiled with the ease of use as our old machine required you to grind beans and empty the coffee after each use. This one, albeit a bit noisy, you just put your cup under the spigots and press the button.I like that it cleans the milk hose each use but you have to remember to put something under the coffee spigots as it does a cleaning cycle at startup and shutdown. Easy to resolve and get used to that.

So, I have this coffee machine since October 2024 and I love it!!! ❤️❤️❤️ My work place offers free coffee, they have a big selection of coffee pods, guess what? I bring my own coffee! This coffee machine works wonders and for sure you know what you are drinking.I definitely recommend it!
