Learning to use the stick welder
My son and I have never used a stick welder before so striking an arc was difficult for both of us. We got a little better at it by trying it periodically over several days, both at 120v and 240 volt. Finally had a friend who's a professional welder try it. He confirms that it works well and was able to use it easily, and he showed us some tricks that seem to work for us. We're getting the hang of it and are able to run some nice beads with good penetration into heavy metal (1/4" and 3/8"). It's fun to use and I think it will be effective. We've tried 6011 and 7018 rods, both 3/32" in diameter. So far I prefer the 7018 rods, both are available and fairly inexpensive at my local Harbor Freight.

It works
Worth the money. It does as advertised and does it well. Perfect for the novice to learn on and is quite useful for backyard projects. Get a good helmet for eye protection and they offer one at a good price.

Awesome unit!
This is an awesome beginner welder for little jobs. The fact that you can Tig, Mig, and Stick weld with this tiny little thing barely bigger than a car battery is amazing.

Very well built and great performance for the tiny price.
Does stick and Tig like a champ. I honestly have no idea how this can be this cheap and work so well. If you are new to tig remember you will need a bottle of argon, self dimming helmet, filler wire, and gloves. The welder is the cheap part. All the other stuff adds up

Amazingly powerful.
This little thing is amazingly powerful, so powerful I had to turn it way down, only complaint is it kept kickin' the 20amp breaker, I would definitely buy it again and highly recommend.
