Perfect for the need
Learned my lesson earlier this year when I bought a different brand of so-called bi-directional fans that I should have stuck with the tried-and-true Holmes. I have relied on Holmes fans for more years than I want to admit. I noticed that some of my old Holmes fans were showing the wear and tear and decided to buy some new bi-directional fans to help pull in the cool nighttime air and exhaust the hotter daytime air. This fan fits perfectly in my kitchen window. It's fairly quiet and with the remote it is so easy to switch the direction. Now if this new fan lasts as long as the older ones, which are still amazingly working after all these years. I'll be a happy camper. We've already had our 1st round of triple digit temps and I anticipate they are going to get a workout this year. Although I just might buy another one to keep on hand just in case. When you live in the high desert, it is better to be prepared.

Great Fan
Great Fan, I had several 10+ year old similar Holmes fans, I leave them on all summer blowing out in unused rooms on the second floor to pull out the hot air. They were getting tired. I purchased this fan and the amount of air being moved was far greater with the new fan. My only complaint is I wish the Remote control was more powerful and had a wider range. Other than that, I absolutely think this is a great fan. I even bought a second one.

Powerful for the size of it.
Love the fan but, it controls my tower fan at the same time(different brands)!!! My luck…

So far loving it!!! It cooled my room down quickly. I love that it fits perfectly in my window and no bugs can come in. The different modes are perfect. It’s not too loud. The price was perfect!

Decent Features, but Cheap Build Quality Makes It Overpriced
My biggest issue with this fan is its flimsy, low-quality construction. The plastic feels thin, brittle, and lightweight—similar to seasonal plastic items like 99¢ Halloween buckets or Dollar Tree products. From the moment you unbox it, the fan screams “disposable.”Functionally, the fan works as expected, and I appreciate the ability to reverse the airflow without physically removing and flipping it. However, the side extenders were a major letdown. They have an accordion-like design, but the clips meant to hold them in place are just as cheaply made as the rest of the unit. There are four clips (one on each side, top, and bottom), and straight out of the box, one was already malfunctioning. This meant the extenders wouldn’t stay in place—a deal-breaker for me.At $45–$50, the fan is simply overpriced for its quality. If it were closer to $25—the price of a basic box fan—it would be a reasonable purchase. But at its current price point, the poor build quality is hard to justify.Pros Worth Mentioning:• Quiet operation• Good airflow on the highest setting• Auto-dimming lights (turn off after ~5 seconds—great for light-sensitive sleepers)• Included remote (small, but convenient)• Customizable airflow (both fans inward, both outward, or one in and one out—a must-have feature missing in many window fans)I’m giving it three stars solely because of the customizable airflow feature, but the build quality leaves much to be desired.

super product and value
I give this fan ten stars. Quiet, well made, inexpensive, impressive performance. Three speeds with easy control is great. reversible flow an added plus.

Not made nearly as well as other products of this same brand 👎🏻
I have bought Holmes products in recent years that have been wonderful. We have 2 of their metal oscillating fans in our bedrooms that are quiet and provide a comfortable breeze while also being very sturdy and well made.THIS fan however is one of the most cheaply made pieces of crap I have ever bought and I used to buy Lasko brand fans until they started drastically cutting corners for their products. The packaging was fully intact with zero dings or holes, yet BOTH of the fan blades within the fan have HUGE cracks running across them. It is too damn hot to return it at this point to be worried that the next one would arrive the same way so we will just deal with it for now until we can fix it ourselves because I absolutely refuse to purchase another fan like this from this brand.
