Good but not sure
This is a great unit and exactly what I wanted. Finally a thermostat that accurately lets you set the required temperature, and also tells the tank temperature all other items on the market are guess work.Easy to install and works, however the instructions are a little unclear in regards to the 1 hour boost.I have tried everything and whist the unit works perfectly when it is turned on for the first time and the one hour boost is set on it just gets to preset temp and then turns offNot sure if unit is faulty or just the one hour boost doesn’t work if you set the desired temperature, not clearStill giving 5 stars as for the price it’s the best unit I have seen

ESI - Energy Saving Innovation Controls ESCTDEB ESI Controls Electronic Dual Cylinder Thermostat, Wh
- The thermostat is super easy to install, which is a huge plus. No need to call in a professional, just follow the instructions and you're good to go.- Love how it helps save on energy bills. It's efficient and does its job without any fuss, which is exactly what I was looking for.- The design is sleek and fits well with the decor. It doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, which is always a bonus.- The controls are straightforward and user-friendly. No complicated settings, just simple and effective.- The temperature accuracy is spot on. It keeps the water just right, which is perfect for those chilly mornings.**What could be better:**- The display could be a bit brighter. It's sometimes hard to read in low light, which can be a bit annoying.- Would be great if it had a Wi-Fi feature. Being able to control it remotely would add a lot of convenience.- The manual could use a bit more detail. Some parts were a bit vague, and I had to figure things out on my own.

great price
Had to ring the technical helpdesk to help with wiring, very efficient and it now works a treat.

Neat thermostat with a good energy saving concept.
Very easy to instal and instructions were very clear for whatever system you have.Note: Someone in the reviews gave this a 2 star And it states two people found this helpful... I don't think they understand how these systems work and probably shouldn't have installed it themselves. They said they did not think it was right that 230V went to the com port. Com stands for common, Not Communication, Which is what I think they thought it meant. They would have seen this if they RTFM.

Replacement for identical item that had failed after three years.
As I was replacing an identical model, this was a very simple installation.

Good idea if it works
Very difficult to set up and get working. Not user friendly. Hard to adjust settings. Hence returned.

Check your cylinder type.
What they don't tell you is that this is designed to be installed on a hot water cylinder with "pockets" for the temperature probes. If you don't have the pockets, you have to bodge it so that it is in place. I had to use duck tape to hold the probes on and to hold the unit on the side of the tank and hope it doesn't fall off. Because of the protrusion at the back designed to go in the pocket, it doesn't sit well on the tank. You can't use an existing belt to hold it on as it would rock, and slip off, and would go over the massive dial. You also need 4 core cable to wire it in. 2 twin core cables won't fit in through the grommet unless you strip the outer sheath off which is not ideal.Having said all that if I did have a pocket in my cylinder I would be very pleased with it. The display of temperature is very useful, and it appears that it will display a target temperature when you turn the massive dial. The red light to indicate "call for heat" is useful too. Wiring is as per a standard thermostat but you need Live and Neutral (no earth) to power it.
