Peak Design plate fits into this Neewer base
I use the Peak Design tripod and Capture Clip when backpacking, so I have PD plates on both of my cameras. I was looking for a quick release base that I could put on my Weebil-S gimbal and continue to use my PD plates with it. I'd bought another Quick Release set by Ulanzi that advertised itself as arca-type compatible, but the base didn't work with the PD plate. This Neewer one does. The photo shows my camera with a Peak Design plate in the Neewer quick release base. 👍The lock and unlock system operates a bit differently than I'm accustomed to, but it works, is very easy to use, and feels very solidly made. This Neewer base stays on my Weebil-S gimbal now, and I can quickly remove and replace my camera without needing to re-balance it every time. Saves a ton of time.

Got in on top of my tripod and the mating part on my SRL at all times. I just used it tonight!
Very solid and well made. High quality brand. Very quick attachment makes it possible to set up quickly.

Peak Design compatibility ... sorta
In the attached pictures, I have the Neewer GM31 mounted to a Mamiya Paramender. If you have no clue what that is, it's used for close-up photography on Mamiya TLR's. Basically, it lifts the camera by exactly the distance between the viewing and taking lenses, so that when you take the picture, the taking lens is where the viewing lens was when you composed - eliminating the need for any parallax correction. I was tired of removing the Peak Design plate from the C330 to mount the camera to the Paramender, so I needed an Acra mount on the Paramender. For my specific use, it works perfectly, but it is not 100% compatible with Peak Design plates. The plate that came with the GM31 is compatible with the PD tripod, BUT, the PD plates do not fit in the GM31. They 'almost' fit - it would probably be very easy to modify either the PD plate or the GM31 so that they fit. Basically, the two edges that come together as you pivot into the mount need to have a slight radius on them. It would probably only take a minute with some 400 grit sandpaper to make them fit, but since I only need this specific setup I have pictured (the GM31 is going to stay on the Paramender, so I don't have to worry about the PD plates on my other cameras fitting into it), I didn't want to modify either of them. Just saying, I think it would be easy to make it 100% compatible, but it you already have a bunch of PD plates, they don't fit without modifying either all of your plates, or this GM31. Possibly both...? I think the edges just need rounded off a little. In these pictures, the plate that came with the GM31 is installed on the C330 TLR. The GM31 is installed on the top of the Paramender, and a Peak Design plate is installed on the bottom of the Paramender. The Peak Design plate only fits in the Peak Design mount, but the GM31 plate fits in both.

Solid and sturdy
I love this. Very secure and sturdy plus a nice quick release. No more plate coming loose. This is a must have

Decent and hefty quick release clamp - if you're lucky it may work with Peak Design Capture plates.
Update 07/02/24:Well, I ordered eight more of these clamps and none of them work with the Peak Design Capture Plate. Apparently, the first of these clamps I bought was a complete fluke that it works perfectly with my existing PD plates. It isn't NEEWER's fault - the clamp isn't actually described to work with PD plates. While the included NEEWER plate does work with a Peak Design Capture Clip, the NEEWER plate is a bit thicker than the PD plates and I really like how low-profile the PD Capture plates are compared to any of the other plates I've used. Now there is another less-fancy but oddly more expensive version of this clamp here on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQKFNDPJ) - the Fomozer JF-Q2S Arca Type Camera Qucik Release Plate - which does work fairly well with PD plates but it doesn't have a lock to keep the clamp in the closed position and also doesn't have the stationary tab that aids in opening the clamp like the NEEWER does.It sure would be nice if Peak Design went back to making new camera gear and would build a better, universal (super) quick-release clamp that works with their low-profile plates.Update 04/15/24:I ordered two more of these clamps. Both of them would not accept my existing Peak Design Capture V3 plates. The first one I ordered does accept the PD plate just fine. I am ordering several more and will update this review again after testing. If you plan on using this clamp with a Peak Design plate, I recommend testing compatibility immediately upon receiving.Original review:I had just about given up after trying and being disappointed in several other "super quick release" clamps and plates that still offer use of a backpack strap carry system. The Ulanzi Falcam F38 was very inconsistent in stability of its clamps and plates - some were tight, some were loose. The corresponding Ulanzi backpack strap clips are not anywwhere near as good as Peak Design Capture. The PGYTech system is more stable but the matching backpack strap clip has a fatal flaw that certain pressure can make the strap clamp disengage.I randomly came across this NEEWER GM31 quick release clamp and when I saw that it worked with Peak Design Capture, I ordered one immediately. Here are some notes about this system:1. The clamp works great with both the included PD Capture compatible plate as well as the original Peak Design Capture V3 plate. It also works with the Falcam F38 plate but is a tiny bit loose.2. The clamp holds the PD/compatible plates really firmly. I haven't experienced any movement with the plate locked into the clamp.3. The included plate is compatible with the Peak Design Capture Clip. It wobbles just as much as the original PD plate but not nearly as much as the supposedly compatible Ulanzi dual PD/F38 plate.4. The included plate works with other standard Arca-Swiss compatible clamps (at least as well as the PD plate does).Like I mentioned earlier - this NEEWER GM31 clamp is very firm - perhaps a little too firm. The design feels a bit medieval with it's heavy-duty tensioned springs and very affirmative clamping that makes the lever swing forcefully in the blink of an eye. If you have your hand in the way of the direction the lever moves, it can hurt when the clamp in engaged and the chrome button whacks into your finger. Additionally, sometimes the lever is a bit difficult to disengage but also means that it's not likely to accidentally open unintentionally. The only real limitation of this clamp is that it only accepts specific 38-ish-mm square plates but it isn't as proprietary as the Falcam F38 or similar.I've already ordered two more of these NEEWER GM31 clamping systems. Being the only one I've found that still allows me to continue using my Peak Design Capture Clip, it will surely prove useful.

Feels Nice - Does not work with Capture Clip
This system (base and receiver) feels nice and sturdy, maybe even too heavy. Surface of the receiver scratched immediately. Most concerning, is I took the time to make sure it supported the exact Peak Design Capture Clip I own, yet it only half works. The receiver does not accept the Peak Design base. So to use this, I would have to replace all of my base mounts with this same model, and use it with the Neewer and Peak Design receivers, which makes this nearly useless for me.

Love it!!!!
I have a mini tripod with the arca Swiss and got tired of turning the nob to get my camera on and off. Bought this and put on and makes it so much easier to get the camera on and off. Works great with peak design plates. Except one peak design plate that has a weird bevel on one side. Happy camper 😁.
