Works excellent with my above ground pool setup
This is a great pump with hi/off/low speeds. It comes preassembled. I had a Hayward that I needed to replace and instead of going with their single speed, expensive motor again I decided to give this a try. I’m glad I did.I use it with my Hayward Perflex D.E. filter. Works perfectly and even fits the perflex plastic base just like the old Hayward motor.Make sure to use pool lube on the strainer basket lid. It will slide right on and off and seal perfectly. If you need the impeller outlet that runs to your oriented horizontally instead of straight up, all you have to do is remove the black plastic cap on the rear of the motor, which is super easy. Next, loosen the 4 long bolts that run the whole way from the back of the motor to the filter basket, and turn the impeller sideways, then push the bolts back in and tighten all four again. It will all be obvious when you do it. Do not pull the four bolts all the way out, that’s not necessary, just enough to twist the impeller horizontally. The impeller is the part between the strainer basket and the motor that pushes the water over to your filter, in case you didn’t know.any sand filters need it vertical, which is how they ship it, but for D.E. Filters it needs to be horizontal. The only confusing part was how to get the strainer basket off the motor. You must remove the basket before you change orientation of the impeller. For a while, I thought it wouldn’t come off, but all I had to do was put the motor and basket on my carpet and twist it off while pulling the basket away from motor a little. The basket literally came right off in seconds, I just could not do it by the strength of my arms alone so use the carpet and floor for leverage. No one else did this in the reviews and it’s so simple. It went back on much easier than getting it off. You can use a tiny bit of pool lube if needed. Do not use WD40 or any other lubricants that are bad for plastics and pools. Pool lube is here on Amazon from several sellers. I use it for every pool gasket there is from the gauge, on/offf valve, large diaphragm on the D.E. filter, etc..it helps a lot and extends gasket life by a lot. Every time I change my D.E. Powder I put fresh lube on the filter to keep that large diaphragm gasket safe and easier to put back together since it slides easily with the lube. I didn’t use it on my older pool and that gasket dried out and cracked which caused air leaks and poor performance. Before you put the plastic cap back on the back of the motor, make sure you didn’t knock loose any of the 3 power wire connectors. They’re simply little wire connections that slide on and off the power switch. There is one for each speed hi/off/low and If any of them fall off you’ll lose that speed, it just won’t work until you reconnect it. I read some people complain about this very problem and I guarantee you they knocked them off when changing the orientation of the impeller. The wire connectors should be crimped a little tighter at the factory, they may even rattle loose from vibrations of the motor over time. It’s a super simple fix, reconnect them and even crimp them a little tighter with a pair of pliers. Done. Make sure your motor is off and unplugged when you do this so there is no electricity while you’re doing this. That’s pretty much it. Anyone can do this. I’m not a pool guy, just a guy with a pool and I like to learn to do things for myself instead of calling the pool company every time I need something. I have replaced every gasket, motor, valve, strainer, and filter I have and I can tell you this motor is good and it’s really nice to have the variable speeds.Hope this helps.

Very quiet
Nothing fancy, inexpensive and easy to drop in replace my Hayward 1.5hp. I bought the Asurion 4 year warranty for $32 so am not worried too much if it doesn't last more than 4 years at the price I paid. Having said that, quality looks good, easy self prime and seriously quiet on both hi speed and almost silent on low speed. Seems to push water well with either speed. Time will tell on the durability.

Je vais voir ça quand je vais mettre ma piscine en marche vers le mois de mai.
