Perfect for two pints or one quart of home-canned food
I'd gotten another set of round casseroles of varying sizes to see which size I needed to make it possible for my non-cooking partner to microwave meals out of my home-canned foods. I canned a bunch of pinto beans and a bunch of chili without beans and was trying to wean him off Hormel chili, which has gotten not only very expensive but also far less healthy for him. But he kept complaining that (a) he had to mix two jars together and (b) if he mixes them in one microwaveable bowl, it won't fit in the bowl. One day I will can up a bunch of chili with beans, but not until we use up some of this other stuff I've already done. What I love about these square casserole dishes (the 1L ones; I got two) is that they each hold two pint jars of whatever, and we can put two of them side by side on the microwave turntable if needed...which cooks more evenly than stacking them...but we can do that, too, if we need to. It gives me a lot of flexibility for how I can prepare meals in the microwave (or using the convection feature, as I'm personally trying to get away from microwaving stuff, although he never will). They are deeper than the round casserole dish I have that holds a quart, and I love that the lids can be reversed for refrigerator stacking or to use as a separate dish. Square is definitely better than round. I'm going to get at least a few more of these.

Let's me microwave safely
All glass container with lid. Why is this so unusual now? Are glass lids dangerous. Don't understand why glass lid cooking items are so hard to find now-a-days.

Good quality
I am happy with both the 1 L and 1.5 L casserole dishes. We use them primarily for microwaving soup and other foods and they work well. So far they've been very easy to keep clean, much better than our old CorningWare. I chose these glass dishes because they are made of a type of glass more resistant to temperature changes than tempered glass.

DO NOT BUY!
the furst casserole lasted 6 months before it developed 2 chips seemingly overnight. the second one lasted 4 weeks - 4 uses. i cook my service dogd food in them so am EXTRA careful as i don't want her getting any glass. i rub my finger around all edges just before using. i put cold food into the casserole run under tepid water. i cool the food in another dish and let the casserole come to room temperature before washing. there just isn't any way. i'm DONE with nutrips since i'm now out $60. i hate borosilicate. it is NOT better than other glass. i even have wine glasses - what's left of a rarely used set. back to pyrex and corning for me. amazon needs to discontinue this brand.

Great Size For 1 Or 2 Persons
There are only two in my household, so we don't need large casserole dishes most of the time. This dish is perfect for cooking frozen vegetables in the microwave. The glass is like Pyrex, so not as widely heat/cold tolerant as Corningware.
