Zylkene 75mg x 10 capsules

The vet precsribed these for my cat as he was going through a prolonged bout of bladder issues caused by struvite crystals. As you can imagine, this has left him rather grumpy and stressed. As stress aggravates the bladder problems, these capsules were suggested. I got the first lot from the vet and they worked brilliantly. You just pull the capsule open and either mix the fine powder into wet food, or (as I did) hide it by mixing it into a squeezy cat paste treat. They cost almost twice the price from the vet, though, and my 6KG cat needs 2 capsules at a time, so I bought the next lot from Amazon. They arrived quickly and in the identical packaging as the vet's ones. They even came with an information leaflet, which the vet's ones didn't. Very pleased and will definitely be buying them again.In terms of the effect: the vet told me they should be calming without a sedative effect. I already use a Feliway diffuser, but my cat was really jumpy and stressed - manifesting with biting, clawing the furniture, lots of jumping in the air and crying. I gave him two of these capsules and within 2 hours the effect was amazing. He came to sit on my lap for a cuddle, was no longer jumping at every small noise, and settled down to sleep for several hours.He didn't seem in any way dopey or stoned, just calm and friendly and much more his normal self. I don't give them every day, but if he's having a bad day they seem to work quickly and effectively. We used them over bonfire night and the new year fireworks, and he just curled up and slept through them. When next door had a day of drilling on our shared wall, he didn't seem bothered at all and happily ate, played and slept as normal. I'd definitely recommend them and am assured by the vet that they don't interact badly with any meds or have side effects. So the worst that should happen is you don't see an effect. In my case, I will now always keep them in and think they're great.

I have a very nervous cat. She came to me as a stray so I have no idea of her background. I tried other products but they had no noticeable effect. A friend recommended Zylkene as she had used it and so I ordered it. I gave her one tablet a day at first and within a short time I could see a difference in her. She is more relaxed and doesn’t jump at the slightest sound. I will continue to use this every second or third day. I am absolutely delighted with this product as it has made my cat happier and relaxed.This

These worked when my dog was spooked by a gun fire when he wouldn't go out of the house so I thought they might help at firework time. Not really much help during the period but I'm hoping it might help him regain his confidence going out at night over the next few weeks.Be careful though, I had these from my vet and didn't realise they came in different sizes, I brought these which are actually 75mg suitable for a cat, not 450g which I actually needed for my dog!

I moved house/town and I had to take my cat on a long train journey (over five hours). I was really worried about it because he gets quite distressed and extremely noisy whenever I take him on the bus. I was also concerned about how he would feel with the house move. I gave him zylkène for three days before the move and a couple of days after. He did not peep throughout the train journey! totally quiet, and looked fairly relaxed. And he's done really well throughout the move, didn't pee anywhere or get sick or panic at all. So I'm absolutely delighted and so grateful for zylkène which made this stressful time easier for myself and my cat. I will definitely use this again.

We found this product not good. It made our moggy ill and go weird. We stopped giving it to him and binned the product. I'm not a vet or a chemist but I'm my view the ingredients in the product are obviously some form of drug. I would never get this again. Even though it was a vet that suggested this product. But then like humans , there is always someone that will have a reaction to something others don't. This review is based on our experience with our cat. Thanks

Maybe fine for calming a stressed cat, but was useless for a 10 hour car journey. I gave it for 5 days before the journey and they seemed nice and chilled. Cried for first 3 hours nonstop.

I give these to my cat when we we move or he needs to go to the vet - basically whenever I need to get him into his carrier which he finds super stressful. I usually start about five days before the carrier event is due to take place and give him one tablet per day. I open the tablet and sprinkle the powder onto his food. Two days before I switch to two tablets per day, one per meal. They do seem to soothe him a bit: he is less dramatic and stressed about the carrier experience than before I used these and I have been able to get him into the carrier each time with him being much less fussy than he could be (it once took me 6 hours and the help of my two siblings to get him in his carrier) so that's a massive plus.

I have used Zylkene before for an unhappy Birman & it has helped loads to help her settle in with the other Birmans here at home. Happy with the seller too a very quick turn round - very happy in every regard & will use again too xx
