Vallejo Model Color 500 ml Gloss Acrylic Varnish, White

Excellent. Great Vallejo varnish, perfect for miniatures.

I used to use Revell Aqua Colour acrylics (inc. varnish) but found they tended to clog my airbrush and gave unreliable results.This varnish from Vallejo sprays through an airbrush perfectly if mixed 50 / 50 with acrylic thinner. Dries crystal clear and super-glossy. Dry to the touch within 30 mins (though would advise much longer if handling). High quality varnish - highly recommended.

I've been experimenting with this Vallejo gloss acrylic varnish, using a variety of different air pressures and viscosities through a Iwata HP-CH airbrush. I'm currently trying it mixed 80:20 varnish to distilled water and at a pressure of 15psi, which is where I'm achieving my best results so far.I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the finish obtainable with this product. Unlike any other clear I've used before, this one seems very difficult to get right. My best efforts so far have resulted in a satin like finish, which I definitely wouldn't describe as gloss, even after 7 or 8 coats and polishing. The saving graces are the ease thinning and cleanup with water, the reasonable fast drying time and lack of reaction when applied over acrylic paints.Overall, I've been disappointed and will probably return to using automotive clears from rattle cans.* UPDATE: Today, having done a fair bit of research, I Again used 15psi air pressure and an 80:20 mix of varnish to distilled water but added a couple of drops of acrylic flow improver and a couple of drops of acrylic drying retarder. What a difference!This time the Vallejo Gloss sprayed really well, staying wet between passes and building into a nice finish with no signs of that rough dry surface I was getting before. The difference in the apparent depth of shine was immediately apparent and I am now happy with the results. I have therefore bumped this product up from 3 to 4 stars, but bear in mind that to get a really good finish you may need to buy some extra products which makes it quite a bit more expensive.

The seller did not have the 500ml in stock but i received 9 60 ml bottles which is 540 ml, the product is excellent and is the best acrylic varnish i have used in 40 years of modelling. It can be brushed or airbrushed (it can be thinned with water) and it dries quickly. The finish is excellent and there is no need to sand down to obtain a high gloss finish withone coat.

Started painting canvases again after along time and needed some varnish, I was apprehensive at first in case it ruined the paintings but it was fine, gave a nice glossy shine to them.

I create acrylic pouring canvases and with so many products on the market for varnish, gloss etc I didnt know what to try, I ordered this product to give it a go and it is brilliant, drys quickly, nice glossy finish.

This is our fourth bottle, quality has changed!Since change of label became very watery and takes longer to dry.Unsure if this is a double whammy case of increased price and dilution of product.
