Concentrated flavour
I saw this product recommended on a cooking forum and fancied giving it a go. I used it for the first time today in soup. I am a long time user of Knorr chicken stock cubes and would normally use two cubes plus 900ml water (cube directions are one cube per 450ml), with no further salt added. Expecting this bouillon to be as salty as the cubes, I used it as indicated on the tub, one tablespoon plus 1000ml of water. When I tasted the soup it was a little bland so I compared the stock cube packet with the info on the bouillon tub and found the cubes are twice as salty. I added another tablespoon to my soup and the flavour was then great. So if you want to use this as a Knorr stock cube replacement, use one tablespoon of bouillon where you would use one Knorr cube. It added a rich extra something to the soup and I’m looking forward to experimenting with it in other things.

This is a far superior product to the equivalent retail bouillon range from Knorr
I follow a Keto way of life and was getting a bit stuck on 'convenience stock' to use when I don't have time to create my own. I had already discounted Knorr stock cubes because, per 100g unprepared weight, they equate to over 7g carbs per 100g and they're not very nice. I alighted on this professional range and realised that it's 3.5g carbs per 100g so half the amount. That propelled me to give it a go but I wasn't expecting much as I find Knorr rather salty and 'powdery' tasting. However I have to say that it makes a very good stock - very more natural tasting from this professional range than from the retail store range.

Perfect
This stuff is great, especially if you're fasting or doing keto. Even if you're not it still makes a lovely warm drink for cold mornings/nights with just half a teaspoon in a cup. A little goes SUCH A LONG WAY. This stuff will last for so long and my advice to you is to freeze portions in ice cube trays because you won't finish a tub unless you're using it every single day. This stuff is gold, it's so versatile for sauces and gravies and soups. You can mix it in with batter, you can even soak breadcrumbs and dry them out in the oven. An absolutely essential for any cupboard/freezer.

Avoid!
[revised 2024/01] After more than a year I decided to spend money and rebuy it.The taste is nothing like it was, it tastes burnt. Salt content is much higher. And it dissolves differently suggesting that a lot has changed in this product. This was a waste of a lot of money. Avoid!================ OLD REVIEW ================The best chicken stock I ever had. It is just too expensive.Tip: wait and simmer for a couple of minutes then stir well before checking if you added enough.

Excellent and economical
I bought this because I do not like all those stupid little "stock pots" that make up a pint of stock. When you only want a couple of tablespoons of stock this ideal. you just make up as much as you need and the flavour is excellent!

Don’t buy if you don’t like Salt
I did read reviews and I have to agree I find this product very salted. Yet my son didn’t!! So the more I used the saltier to me it tasted.

Hot Chicken Drink
Can't find Chicken Bovril anywhere at the moment and prices had rocketed prior to going missing from supermarkets Bovril manufacturer Unilever say it is still manufactured but supermarkets are saying it is discontinued. So this product is a good replacement for making hot drinks etc.
