Sailor Fountain Pen Professional gear silver 112037420 Middle Point

I really like this pen– it's a nice step up from the Pro-Gear Slim (Sapporo), being a little longer and girthier, and with a larger nib. The body of the pen is made of a nice, solid-feeling plastic, and there are no issues with how the parts fit together. The threading for the cap feels quite smooth, and doesn't cause me any issues when writing.It is a cartridge/converter pen, and mine came with two standard Sailor Jentle black cartridges, but not a converter. The one weakness of this system is the small capacity of Sailor C/Cs.The beautiful 21k bi-colour nib is the main attraction, and it writes superbly. It gives quite a wet line, and the feed keeps the ink flowing flawlessly. The nib is smooth, with a bit of pleasant feedback that lets you feel the surface of the paper. The nib also has a bit of springiness to it, and will give a modest amount of line variation with some pressure.Bear in mind that the Sailor medium is roughly equivalent to a Western fine.Overall, really pleased with the pen, and is currently an excellent price.
