Good overview of the basics of AI
I have not read this book cover to cover, but have finished most of it.This book is really well written and edited. The prose is clear and concise for the most part. There are very few distracting errors. Further, the new edition has some significant updates in this fast-moving field. The authors have achieved their goal or providing a broad and easily digestible overview of the key topics of AI. The depth is significantly less that the encyclopedic Russel and Stuart book. This has the advantage of text that follows well and gives the reader a background in the key concepts without trying to digest all the detail at the same time.If you want more depth, you might want to read this book first and they take on Russel and Stuart. Assuming the new, 4th, edition of Russel and Stuart ever arrives..............

Tedious infodump with no context
This book is one long slog of information thrown at the reader with zero context or insight into how tactical use. It essentially reading one definition after another, made all the more disjointed by the authors decision to highlight each keyword, and yet there are no exercises or questions inviting the reader to put the information to use. This results in 0 practical learning.

If your professor uses this book, drop the course...
Book is trash. Required for a class, class was trash too.
