Fun with Friends but a Great Single Player Story and DLC Package
I purchased 3 copies of Destiny on release pre-order for me, my boyfriend and our close friend we all play games together with. Kinda as a gift, but the point is this game is so damn fun when you play it with friends. It's really cool how we are each of the classes(even though i fight to switch to hunter haha). We have just started our level 1's after playing through the new DLC and because we are college students, its quite hard to find time to play together when we aren't all doing our own work etc. This is a heavy game, like there is ALOT of grinding, levelling and farming, this game is built as an FPS MMO with the playability of *crucible* being online play against other players in a deathmatch/gamemodes sort of deal. Its pretty much up to you what you do but id defiantly play through the game from the beginning and work your way through the massive amount of hours worth of content. As someone who didnt play destiny prior to getting this, and the other two who did, it was quite hard keeping up with them in the new DLC, because they knew how to play and how to complete quests quickly i was left to try and learn in a very high level of play situations. BUT because they give you two level ups ( a level 40 and a level 25) it wasn't really "difficult" if that makes sense. I would recommend if you haven't played it before, start from the beginning or maybe watch/read a few basic tutorials of how destiny works before jumping into the level 40 characters.Overall. Super fun with friends, the game CAN drag on and be a little boring on your own HOWEVER there is so much story and content that it makes a great single-multiplayer game ( XD) This collection is also the best thing to get into Destiny now because there are alot of players online and you get all the DLC for much cheaper then it wouldve been, i just feel sorry for those who already owned destiny and a few of the DLC because its more worthwhile purchasing the whole game again at this point. haha. OH! It also came on time on release day, shame it took so long to install that we couldn't actually PLAY it on release...ffs...

This is a very bad game
I have nearly 15 hours of playtime on this. I have beaten the main campaign, the 2 mini expansions and The Taken King. I am aware of the codex that is available on Bungie's website, but if they couldn't be bothered to put them in the game then they are not important. The story is bland, an entity called the “darkness” threatens to destroy everything and you, a guardian, are tasked with stopping it. We never learn anything about what the darkness is, why it’s dangerous, nor do we actually learn much about anything in the game. The most we learn is that the traveller, a giant ball, created ghosts that can resurrect a guardian to protect the world, but even that has lots of unexplained stuff (e.g what is the traveller). The characters in the game are blander than those underdeveloped characters in films and tv shows. None of the characters have interesting personalities, in fact, one character, that is apparently important to the plot, acts as if you two are good friends at the end of the game when in reality you've only ever interacted with them once (Didn't learn anything about them either). And they give you their gun (which at the time was weaker than my sniper rifle). The expansions give 2 characters that are slightly interesting: Variks, a Fallen enemy that turned good) and Cayde-6, a comedic who is actually a leader of one of the classes in the game, Warlock. While good characters they aren't all that amazing. The combat in this game is good for a few hours but becomes a slog quickly. There are 4 primaries (Auto, Souct, Pulse Rifles and Hand Cannon) and 4 special weapons (Pistol, Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle and Machine Gun). Neither primary nor special contains an alien weapon, it's all human weaponry with some weapon designs looking alien-like. The weapons get specific abilities (better range, elementals, "damage increase", etc.) in the later levels of the game but they don't impact much in combat. Armour in this game can either look pretty cool or boring. There are 3 classes that, in summary, get a different ultimate. The classes themselves have subclasses that have different ultimates. In the base game each class gets 2 subs but with The Taken King, it increases to 3. The ultimates themselves aren't that interesting, one ult gives you a hand cannon that has increased damage and range and another gives you a bow and arrow with one shot. The only difference between them besides the ultimate is which challenges you do.With this collection, the game gets a total of 5 enemy types. I didn't encounter the 5th enemy as I gave up on the game but that wouldn't make a difference as the 4 I've encountered are boring. The only one that is remotely dangerous is the taken, as they primarily shoot explosives at you and attack in swarms, but they are reskinned enemies from the other factions. One enemy type for some reason has it's weak point as its chest which is out of the blue, but refreshing. The main feature of this game is its loot system. You can collect various guns and armour to improve your light rating, which I only think of as a way to access higher difficulties. Weapons and armour come in 5 different rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary and Epic (As of writing this I have not gotten an Epic yet). The better the rarity the better the item in general, though this doesn't matter. The stats these items give, the Light rating itself means NOTHING. They do not kill enemies faster, nor do they reduce the amount of damage you take. I found this out when I tried an old mission. I was level 38 with armour and weapon stats at around 200, totalling my Light rating to 200 as well. I redid a level 4 mission and to my horror, my gun did the EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE AS MY VERY FIRST GUN. I also TOOK THE SAME AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO MY HEALTH. This game does not reward you with better items that can protect you and do more damage, they just help you get to newer missions faster. In conclusion, this game is very bad. The story in the game is terrible, there is no reason to get invested into this at all, especially since there isn't much background story at all in this game. While the combat in this game can be fun at times it gets dull quickly, especially when I found out the stats every item in the game has is worthless. The enemies themselves are not interesting or unique, each faction gets the same enemy types with different looks. That's it. This game is worth £10 with DLC and no more.If your thinking of buying this game, don't. I would recommend Borderlands as it has a similar concept, but better writing and designs. I would also recommend Call of Duty of all things more than this game.

Best game I've played in my life
This game is absolutely amazing!! I clocked in 700hours in 4 months when Destiny first came out 2 years ago, I had to stop just before HOW came out because it was affecting my daily life. This edition allows me to play all the content that I have missed and level me up to current standards! I hear TTK was the best DLC and now ROI is just as good!!Get this game if you want to:- Find purpose in your life- Lose weight (as you won't have time to cook or eat)- Make new friends (online)- Save money (never leaving the house)- Have reason to wake up in the morning̶U̶̶̶n̶̶̶f̶̶̶o̶̶̶r̶̶̶t̶̶̶u̶̶̶n̶̶̶a̶̶̶t̶̶̶e̶̶̶l̶̶̶y̶̶̶,̶̶̶ ̶̶̶I̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶̶̶a̶̶̶d̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶o̶̶̶ ̶̶̶r̶̶̶e̶̶̶t̶̶̶u̶̶̶r̶̶̶n̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶i̶̶̶s̶̶̶ ̶̶̶p̶̶̶r̶̶̶o̶̶̶d̶̶̶u̶̶̶c̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶u̶̶̶p̶̶̶o̶̶̶n̶̶̶ ̶̶̶r̶̶̶e̶̶̶c̶̶̶e̶̶̶i̶̶̶v̶̶̶i̶̶̶n̶̶̶g̶̶̶ ̶̶̶i̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶a̶̶̶s̶̶̶ ̶̶̶I̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶̶̶a̶̶̶d̶̶̶ ̶̶̶h̶̶̶u̶̶̶g̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶P̶̶̶T̶̶̶S̶̶̶D̶̶̶ ̶̶̶f̶̶̶l̶̶̶a̶̶̶s̶̶̶h̶̶̶b̶̶̶a̶̶̶c̶̶̶k̶̶̶s̶̶̶ ̶̶̶j̶̶̶u̶̶̶s̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶b̶̶̶y̶̶̶ ̶̶̶l̶̶̶o̶̶̶o̶̶̶k̶̶̶i̶̶̶n̶̶̶g̶̶̶ ̶̶̶a̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶c̶̶̶a̶̶̶s̶̶̶e̶̶̶.̶̶̶ ̶̶̶I̶̶̶ ̶̶̶k̶̶̶n̶̶̶o̶̶̶w̶̶̶ ̶̶̶m̶̶̶y̶̶̶ ̶̶̶l̶̶̶i̶̶̶f̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶w̶̶̶i̶̶̶l̶̶̶l̶̶̶ ̶̶̶b̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶c̶̶̶o̶̶̶m̶̶̶p̶̶̶l̶̶̶e̶̶̶t̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶i̶̶̶f̶̶̶ ̶̶̶I̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶p̶̶̶e̶̶̶n̶̶̶ ̶̶̶i̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶a̶̶̶n̶̶̶d̶̶̶ ̶̶̶I̶̶̶ ̶̶̶w̶̶̶i̶̶̶l̶̶̶l̶̶̶ ̶̶̶n̶̶̶o̶̶̶t̶̶̶ ̶̶̶s̶̶̶t̶̶̶r̶̶̶i̶̶̶v̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶t̶̶̶o̶̶̶ ̶̶̶b̶̶̶e̶̶̶ ̶̶̶b̶̶̶e̶̶̶t̶̶̶t̶̶̶e̶̶̶r̶̶̶ ̶̶̶i̶̶̶n̶̶̶ ̶̶̶a̶̶̶n̶̶̶y̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶t̶̶̶h̶̶̶e̶̶̶r̶̶̶ ̶̶̶a̶̶̶r̶̶̶e̶̶̶a̶̶̶s̶̶̶ ̶̶̶o̶̶̶f̶̶̶ ̶̶̶m̶̶̶y̶̶̶ ̶̶̶l̶̶̶i̶̶̶f̶̶̶e̶̶̶.
