Awesome Chess Set
The pieces are finely crafted and weighted. 3” King perfect size on chessboard.

FIDE vibe without the price
These pieces are similar in shape to the official FIDE World Championship set. The difference is that they're not as well crafted as the expensive FIDE pieces, but it's a good representation, though if you require your knights having a mane then this set might not be for you since the back is smooth. The weight of the pieces are nice and each piece is a dull matt look, so it doesn't reflect light. This is a great set for those that are looking for inexpensive chess pieces that have the FIDE vibe.

Wonderful for recreational use
I bought two sets of chess pieces from A&A at the same time, this one and one with a wood storage case (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CB3HVCNB). The pieces are quite uniform between the two sets, as expected, and so meet my intended purpose. I have replacement pieces for every piece when one is inevitably lost or broken. I grew up seeing many games with small pieces such as pawns, a checker, dice, etc. replaced by something close. By buying two identical sets of pieces that will never be a problem. The pieces are quite as nice as expected, and perfect for recreational play. But after reading many reviews I thought I would check the dimensions... Well, the kings were slightly taller than 3 inches, but the base of the king was more like 1.2 inches rather than 1.4 inches. The pawns had bases that were more or less 0.8 inches, with only slight variations, but were only 1.4 inches tall rather than 1.5 inches. Not a big deal, really, unless you are trying to find replacement pieces to match your missing or broken piece later on, or are looking to buy this set to replace a piece in your set. Another thing I noticed was that every single piece had a oval base -- not dramatically oval, but enough to realize these either were not turned on a lathe, or were sanded unevenly. The case which came with this is pasteboard, similar to but much nicer than the cigar boxes I had as a child to store my childhood treasures in. It also has two cloth bags to store the pieces in. This allows for the possibility of missing a piece when putting them away and so losing them. The pieces themselves seem quite well made and I would seriously doubt they would get damaged from rubbing against the other pieces in the bag while stored in the box.The wood case with the other set added twenty dollars to the cost over what I paid for this set, but adds value for me due to the way I use them, so this set will set on a shelf as a spare.Bottom line: it is an elegant set of chess pieces with a good case that will be a pleasure to play with for decades, but could be difficult to replace a piece some ten or twenty years from now.

Great set
First thing, the only real flaw was a pawn is chipped. but things like this vary order to order. sometimes things arrived damage. there was no damaged packaging. the next might be flaw. is the pieces are a little light weight. especially the pawns. I guess, they're not gone in the wind. & I don't feel like they're at risk of tipping over during play. not a bad choice for an analysis set with that said. The presentation is good. Very nice size pieces if you don't have the space. the design and color are really good in person. in photos the necks of the knights looked pretty thin. like they could easily be snapped off but in person they look fine/ a lot better lol. the chipped pawn doesn't upset me too much it. if it was a king, rook, knight it would be a real problem I think. The pieces are slightly smaller by the dimensions. the height. at most 1/16 inch. and the diameter at most 1/32 inch. meaning the king is 2 15/16 of an inch. and maybe 1.19 in diameter. if that means anything. I paired the pieces up with a 1.5 in square. I think has a really nice feel.

Great quality!
I like that they are triple weighted, and beautifully carved wood. They are the perfect height for using with a tournament sized board. They are exactly what I was looking for. Adults are using them.
