Amazing but expensive
I've tried a lot of self watering planters, and Lechuza is definitely the best!Incredibly well made, easy to use, plenty of variety, and amazing designs and color options. Great for large plants (I have an elephant ear in mine), and works great both indoor and outdoor.Only issue is the high price. Lots of other quality options available from other brands, but none quite as good as Lechuza. Highly recommend if it fits your price range, but if not you can find lots of similar alternatives for cheaper.

Best Manufacture of Self-Watering Planters I've tried
Works as intended. The inner layer is removable for cleaning.Instructions called for traditionally watering for a couple of weeks. Depending on the plant type and soil you used. The roots need time to find their way to the bottom. My soil seemed to transfer moisture to the surface immediately so I skipped that and was fine.

Best for upright plants
I wouldn't use this for crawling plants if you plan on moving your plants a lot. It has a ring that pops up around the circumference that would be great for Strelitzia or Pachira aquatica but put a crawly Philodendron and it will be a pain. I don't love that the inner pot has "assembly." I do have some knockoff lechuzas that actually have a nicer lift mechanism... ie, indents in the inner pot.As far as self watering planters, it has a nice capacity so i don't have to water often at all. I occasionally see reviews saying their plant died when they put it in these things. If a plant dies in a planter, it's probably your fault for either overwatering it, bad substrate, putting the wrong type of plant in it etc..That would be like assuming cruise control means the car will drive for you or a stove magically turns itself off or extinguishes grease fires.

Comes with basically no pon
Lemme start by saying that I previously bought two 6x6x7 deltini planters from lechuza and they are awesome. They came with almost enough pon to fill them (I had to fill the remaining two inches or so with pumice) so I expected these larger pots to come with enough pon to actually plant something. For roughly $75 per pot including shipping, as I purchased two on sale, I am super disappointed that these each only came with a measly, laughably small bag of substrate. Like so small that I just held it like "oh" and looked at it sadly for a while. I measured the amount and it comes out to roughly 2 CUPS of pon per 28x26cm planter. Shipping pon to the US is wildly expensive and I was hoping this would be a work around. It's not. I'll either have to spend $200 on name brand pon or I'll have to go with a DIY mix. I'll likely just buy from Crystal Star Nursery because I can't justify pon in this economy. I do love the planters and none of the components were missing but... saying "pon included" and not warning people how much pon they will get feels like icky false advertising- lechuza you need to do better! I won't be returning the pots because they really are beautiful and I've had such a good time growing in these semi-hydro setups. I do love that you can lift the cache pot all the way out in this model to flush. Something that I didn't realize is that it comes with the option to drain from the plug at the bottom of the pot. I'm hoping it doesn't leak but it provides another option for flushing.
