If you like Rambo buy it!!!!
This is my first Gil Hibben knife, I have known about him for a long time being a knife collector but I always figured since he was attached to United cutlery and Bud K etc. His products would be kind of crap but this knife is far from crap. This is one beautiful bad mother of a knife! The fit and finish is way better then I thought it would be and its pretty sharp too! Its actually a lot sharper then my K-Bar 😏. I don't intend on using this for anything other then display or playing Rambo cutting paper and cardboard but it can do a lot more from the videos I've seen people abusing this knife. If you like big beautiful blades or are a fan of rambo and want a knife that is kinda a ll the Rambo Knives in one package then this is for you. I don't regret this purchase at all. The only con I've found is the leather strap the secures the knife in the sheath is very tight to get around the handle to snap. But I'm sure it will stretch in time. Now excuse me, Colonal Troutman is calling for me 😜

Worth the price
I bought this because I am a Rambo fan and have always wanted a Hibben blade. I am giving this a four because of a few reasons. Right out of the box this was impressive. The blade is very sharp and with only a few strokes on the diamond sharpener it is shave your arm sharp. Very impressive for such a long thick blade. The blade steel is clean with a good consistent finish and clean lines on the saw teeth. The guard has some grind marks, which is disappointing. The transition of the handle components is not smooth but not very noticeable handling it. The handle is on the square side but offers a good solid grip and is smooth. The butt was a little loose but I was able to tighten it up with the bolt. The sheath is very well made and durable. Overall I would not use this as an extreme survival knife as the name suggests because of the handle not being full tang, more like medium duty if shtf. Would definitely not put it through the abuse my old western bowie has taken since I was a kid. For as large as it is it balances well and is fairly light. The quality could be better since it has the Hibben name, but on sale under $100 it is worth every penny. I bought this for a wall hanger and conversation piece and am very happy with it overall.

Great looking knife and big so you have to expect the weight
This is my first time buying a Hidden knife and I was impressed with it right out of the box like great has a good action move to it but I did just get it today so I have to check the Rockwell hardness on it then put it through its tests to see how well it stands up to my collection of well over 1500 high end knives I own some I paid several thousand dollars for I only buy the best and being a retired metlalurs I know good still and how to test it . The Knife looks good cuts and saw well but I will be the judge as to how much it can take. The handle right out of the box needs buffing to bring out the proper shine I know is there the sheath is stiff but I always put leather oil on mine to softener up and preserve It for the long days in all kinds of weather . Being in the desert of Arizona now the heat really can do a job on anything made of leather with out proper care so I will write a follow up later after I see what this knife has to give. As far as the seller goes he delivered It on time and in good shape by looks, now I will see what he sold me

a Good, solid dependable blade
This blade is great! First it is very solid and sharp. The sheath is good quality leather and the blade arrived sharp enough to cut paper. The sawback spine needs a little sharpening but works well when properly sharpened. The knife is very intimidating and everytime I carry it, nobody messes with me. The leg tie it came with broke but I was able to replace it easily. The handle is very solid and this is a full-tanged knife. I really appreciate how it looks. This knife looks like something Sly Stallone would've carried in not only Rambo but any of his other excellent movies. I am proud to own this blade. It not only looks cool but is very useful as well. The other day, a wild coyote came at me and I used this knife to defend myself. The coyote ended up dead with it's guts hanging out. Needless to say, I was glad I took this knife out hiking with me despite it's weight. I highly recommend this knife despite it's 2 minor flaws. They are easily fixed with a little time and "elbow grease".

Solid Knife!!
Fast shipping!! Knife is a fantastic design. Very sharp. It holds it's edge nicely. I find it to be a fine martial arts knife as well. This knife is large, it is a beastly blade. The only thing better would be the same blade made of 440C stainless, or maybe a folded steel, hardened in san-mai style. However, for the cost, this knife is a great all around survival, camping, and utility knife. It is very reasonable cost for the quality of steel. It comes sharp right out of the box! I chose to sharpened it using a 12K grit stone! it can filet a trout, plus cut a tent peg and still hold a good edge. I will buy more Gil Hibben designed blades from United Cutlery.
