Does the job. Glad I didn't pay full price.
Overall this is pretty good. I bought it hoping I could spend less time vacuuming/mopping.We have 1 dog, 1 long haired cat, 1 one year old, and a husband who tracks dirt everywhere. Basically our floors stay dirty and look like they are growing their own fur half the time. Our floors are all tongue and groove vinyl and laminate. You can see in my pictures how dirty the water is! That's just from the kitchen, so I know its working.Pros:1. Vacuums and mops at the same time. Dirty tank is DIRTY so it's working well.2. Pretty lightweight and no cord is great.3. Very easy to clean manually. I haven't tried the self cleaning, so can't comment on that.4. User friendly. Easy to set up and figure out.5. Don't need to use the full amount of solution. I just added a little and it still smelled great.Cons:1. Not great at cleaning stuck on spots. The brushroll doesn't seem to hit the floor with much pressure. You'll probably have to spot clean tougher spots (such as dried up baby formula).2. It recommends to vacuum before hand if you have shedding animals. This kind of defeats the purpose for me.3. Battery life. It takes 4 hours to charge, but only lasts about 45. We have a 3 bed, 2 bath house. I was able to finish everything except half the living room and the kitchen before it died.4. You'll need to empty and refill tank about halfway through.5. Pricey. Thankfully I bought on cyber Monday.Overall pretty good and I'm still liking it.

Absolutely unreliable
Beware. Zero stars. This is at least my third purchased Crosswave. I’ve had several whole machines replaced and parts supplied by BISSELL since every one has malfunctioned: bad dirty water tank, bad clean water tank connector, bad battery, bad charger, no suction, etc.In addition to us three humans, we have an elderly AmStaff and two other pets - and light floors, so I must have something like the Crosswave for daily use. When it works, it’s great… It hardly ever works.I’m talking about *multiple* of these BISSELL machines being lemons. Not one has lasted more than a couple of months.I gave up on the Crosswave and tried the comparable Tineco, which immediately died, as well as a Hoover version, which also did not last long. Obviously these wet/dry vacs are a great idea, but I haven’t found a reliable version that can handle daily use. (Don’t recommend using this one, or any, as anything more than a mop. Sweep first; debris will kill it. Can’t even handle a Cheerio, despite what they show on the commercial.) We bit the bullet and got this new X7 hoping BISSELL had fixed the problems. Two months and $529 later, I’m certain they have not.I babied this thing and it still died. Amazon won’t take it back; and where BISSELL used to respond immediately with a replacement machine or parts if the warranty was valid, they now send these (thus you, the customer) to an authorized service center for repair. If your machine is unrepairable, the *service tech* now must make the request to BISSELL for a replacement. This is supremely inconvenient given the Crosswave performance record I’m familiar with, but perhaps understandable since the company would go bankrupt if it continued to supply new parts or machines directly to customers with each malfunction. The malfunctions are constant.I strongly recommend against buying this Crosswave, or any version of it. My sweeper, mop and bucket are way less convenient but they are 100% reliable. I’d bet yours are too.

Amazing, game changing increase in quality of life!
I don't think I could live without this pet vac. We have a large home with wall to wall tile, no carpet anywhere. We also have three dogs and care for a feral cat colony, some of which have moved indoors. Daily, vigilant cleaning and maintenance is a must in our household. Once upon a time, I spent three to five hours, every morning, sweeping and mopping and had to have mop water, clean mop ready on standby for the rest of the day. This product has been game changing. I now spend about 30-45 mins using this product to vac/mop the full house in the AM. After that it's quick, easy spot control with this vacuum. It's so convenient! No cord dragging thru the mess on the floor and spreading it, no struggling to plug into hard to reach outlets, it self cleans so i don't have to take it apart and do a heavy cleaning after usage. This makes me use it more often because its so easy. The end result? My house smells amazing, my floors are polished perfection and maintenance spot cleaning is a breeze, all accomplished in less than half the time of my previous cleaning methods. This is a high value product so if you purchase it, treat it with reverence, don't be rough as it has a squeegee like blade that can be damaged/chipped if pushed too hard over uneven surfaces.

THis is the Bissell Crosswave I have been waiting for
Very pleased with this one. Have had multiple corded Crosswaves the last several years and I like them. I got some cheapo brand that is very lightweight and has zero cleaning or sucking power but is so easy to clean I use it for nasty stuff like cat vomit and pee. (I have a cat rescue) and then it is very easy to clean and sanitize. This Crosswave is heavy and sucks up very good. None of these cleaners will work on dried stains. You have to soak them with a mop and scrub then use this to clean up. These floor cleaners are good if your house is never really dirty. I see a lot of reviews where people are not happy with them but you have to know they are limited in what they can do. I use it for quick cleans or to do a final clean on a floor that I mopped but my floors get really dirty living in the country and with multiple animals. Nothing can deal with animal dirt and hair - sorry. You want this thing to be heavy enough to sit tight to the floor and have good suction. It is also easy to clean but again heavy for an older person it would be hard to pick up. I really like its design and it has a nice light so you can see dark corners. As usual with all these floor cleaners the dirty tank is small and has to be emptied often. I mean if your house is very dirty you might need a shop vac.
