Very pleased!
This vacuum has been great for me. The suction has been consistently great, both for floor vacuuming and hose vacuuming. After a little over 6 months of owning and using the vacuum, I just had to replace the bag for the first time today. Granted, it only gets used for a living room rug and a bedroom, but that's still pretty good. I'm really glad I decided to make the switch from a vacuum with a dust cup to a bagged vacuum. So much easier and cleaner! The closest thing to a complaint I have is that it would be really nice if I could remove the wand/hose (for higher vacuuming) without having to unwrap the entire cord. Since the upper hook that the cord wraps around is on the removable wand, you have to completely unwrap the cord any time you want to use the wand. That's the one thing that annoys me.My first time replacing the bag didn't go super smoothly, but now that I know what to do, it should be quick and easy next time. Even though I looked at the instructions, I didn't realize that the bracket you insert the top of the bag into is supposed to pop out at an angle like it does. When I was pressing the bag release button, that was not happening (and it took me a while to get the bag to release). I managed to also awkwardly slide the new bag into the bracket without the bracket being in the position it was supposed to be in. Then, when I couldn't get the dust cover assembly to snap back into the vacuum afterward, I knew something was wrong and consulted a video on YouTube. After seeing what it was supposed to do in the video, I managed to get the bracket to pop out like it was supposed to (not sure why it didn't before) and then clicked it successfully back into place, and the assembly snapped back onto the vacuum fine then. Now that I've got that learning out of the way, it should be smooth sailing.I've had no problems with the brush roll or anything else. It has done great with my cat's long hair, my long hair, cat litter that gets tracked on the floor, dirt, etc. I even vacuumed up ants with it once and then wondered if they would end up crawling out. No ants made it back out that I observed. So far, this has been a great vacuum, and the price is quite decent at $170. You can spend a lot more money on a vacuum, especially bagged vacuums. Very happy with my choice to get this Kenmore!(Review is for Kenmore BU4050 Intuition Bagged Upright Vacuum, liftup Cleaner with Hair Eliminator brushroll, pet Handi-Mate for Carpet, Hard Floor, Rose Gold)

Leave bagless behind
I absolutely love this vacuum. I have had cordless vacuums since I can remember. I’ve also always had multiple long haired dogs. Most recently, I was using the cordless Shark Rocket Pet Pro. Typically I have to empty the thing multiple times in the course of a single clean, and get the inevitable puff of dust in the air while emptying it. It also would tend to get stuck on large puffs of hair and require frequent detangling.I took a chance based on online recommendations and ended up with the Kenmore Intuition. I was hesitant, because I expected to be replacing the bag constantly and thought it would be a hassle. Not so! I bought this thing in early December, and am just now (7 months later) replacing the second bag. It has much better suction than a cordless and handles my pet hair tumbleweeds no problem. I love the way the wand and canister are able to detach for cleaning the steps. The thing is also incredibly lightweight for an upright (my shark’s predecessor was a hulking behemoth of a thing relegated to a single floor). Because of that, it’s no burden bringing it up and down stairs. There are only two cons:1. Sometimes it is almost too lightweight. If I try to stretch the wand too far, it will fall right over.2. The attachments will NOT stay on the vacuum base for storage when not in use. Every time I try to put them there, they fall off. It is annoying needing a separate bag to carry around my attachments.

OK, but not great
The good: extra long cord, and you can pick up the whole thing to do the couch or dog beds relatively easily. The OK: you can turn off the beater bar (didn't realize till my last vacuum this was a "feature" and not standard). Head is pretty narrow, but gets under furniture farther than most. The annoying: no height adjustment on the carpet! So this is useless for throw rugs with any pile height at all. Also, the attachment cord design is super annoying and you can't get more than a foot from the vacuum with it. Why is vacuum cleaner design so hard???

This vacuum sucks (in the best way a vacuum can)
I have 5 cats, a dog, various foster pets, and multiple people with long hair all shedding in my house on top of the usual mess young kids can make, so I've tried all the big-name vacuums that promise to take care of my level of disaster. They all get tangled and stopped up right away and they've been impossible to keep going for long. And to top that off, none of them really had the suction power that they claimed to have. This one, however, is everything, and this listing for it is too humble. My biggest complaint is how great it sucks everything up, which is also one of the things I love most about it. Since I'm used to subpar vacuums, I'm also used to being able to vacuum while there are still random socks or pet toys or homework lying on the floor. DON'T DO THAT WITH THIS VACUUM. It not only cleaned several months of untouched nastiness in our rug, but it also took up playing cards, kids socks, hair clips, and paper towels with almost no issue. The sock stayed in the brush area, but the paper towel went almost all the way through to the bag. I thought I'd be unclogging the hose forever, but there's this switch on the handle that allows you to mess with the hose suction, and I was able to pop it out of the way with little to no issue. The sensors are excellent. One shows if the brush is being effective (which clued me into the sock's location) and the other shows the fullness of the bag (which clued me into the paper towel in the hose). This is the first vacuum I've had with a bag in it, and I'm so ok with it.It's light, durable, easy to assemble, quick to move and maneuver, and with the suction power, it's also exceptionally efficient and thorough. If my carpets can't slow it down, it should be able to handle anything. Buy this vacuum. It's beyond worth it.
