* Entertaining * Sparky * Electric *
A sparky and entertaining romantic novel from Donna Alam, No Ordinary Gentleman is fun, angsty in places, has tonnes of chemistry between the two main characters that positively froths and brims over, and completely delivers a beautiful and energetic love story.Alexander is the dour Scottish Duke just turned 40 and Holland is the effusive, bubbly American 20 something working in London. This couple have a very interesting meeting, and what starts as one wild night together, becomes much more when they again cross paths.I just love the way this author writes. Her words are so engaging, her stories are fresh and enticing, and her characters are likeable, imperfect, rounded and real. I also really appreciated how the author would revisit via memories or musings parts of the story later on to give us a new perspective or a fuller understanding of events.This author absolutely knows how to write chemistry and electricity between her characters. She also knows how to keep us readers on edge, as the path to a HEA is never easy or smooth.No Ordinary Gentleman is an excellent read, and one I would highly recommend to lovers of contemporary romance.

Not her best
I do enjoy the banter in Donana's books and the storyline. This book was just too long. Over 200 pages too long

A lovely read!! An unexpected find!
Never read anything by this author before. Found book on Kindle Unlimited. Very happy I found it. Was a really nice story, easy reading, good characters and some laugh out loud humour. Read it over 2 days as I had trouble putting it down, had to, otherwise would have read in 1 day! Definitely will read more by Donna Alam now. Only very slight downside was a few errors. However, not enough to put me off or change rating. I’ve seen much, much worse. Why is it a thing? I thought editors/proof readers checked author’s work? Or is that ‘Old school’ and I’m just showing my age?? 🤔 is it maybe a money/struggling author thing? My advice, for what it’s worth, get a few friends to check it first maybe?? Not trying to be offensive, particularly to this author, as it wasn’t that many, but if any other authors read this, take note!!

a five-star of a thrilling ride of a read
No Ordinary Gentleman by Donna Alam is a five-star of a thrilling ride of a read. Wow, what can I say, I adore this author and everything they write, but ahhh man I love Olive, sorry Holly even more than I expected! ((I will never admit this if questioned in real life, but she may have knocked Natasha off her perch!!! Not our sweet beloved June, but still the shock) (Insert shocked awe here)). This has it all, hotties, thirsty traps, talent, and sweeties that just don’t give up. Do yourself a favor and grab this story, get sucked into the Holly’s (shockingly similar to my) love of the oldies as this one kicks off with a bang. (The oldies rule, just maybe not in the way they want to). Anyhow, I digress, PICK this sucker up, as you will not be disappointed, you will love the people and the setting, and the heat….. oh the heat, you will be so warm you can turn the heating down. Now get reading, you know you want to.

Need more Duke!
I agree with “Picky Mom”s review on this book. I do wish I could give 4 stars as the story had super potential. Too many fillers, repeats and I need more Duke as well. I also wished he was more Alpha. Although I enjoy the authors writing this book could have been 200 pages less. I also found myself skipping sections and skimming through not one but multiple chapters. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the book the story is good just a bit snooze worthy at times so I wouldn’t spend money on it unfortunately… okey maybe just for the cover.But now am off to explore Donna Alam some more! You can't like them all :P

5*
This wasn't just a regular Prince and the maid type story, it has a lot more depth and plot than that. You really get a sense of the characters involved, and that they have real backstories and regrets. That they're not perfect, and that makes the book even better!The fact that the Duke can filthy talk like cassanova himself is just a bonus, and the sizzle! Phew!

Hidden Secrets
Good read, a bit prolonged however well written. An American sassy girl meets a Scottish Gentleman in London who helped her out of a distasteful situation, then can't let their chance meeting go which leads to unconventional ups and downs, Scottish Castles and everything inbetween.

Donna does it again.
What’s not to love about this book. Best ‘meet cute’. The way Holland meets Alexander was laugh out loud. After him listening in on a conversation that she was having with another couple in a bar and her getting propositioned with a threesome by said couple. He came to the rescue, implying he knew her. This lead to an afternoon and night together. What a night it was too 💥. On from this they go their separate ways, neither of them being able to forget that night. Then wonderfully they meet again, to both of their surprise a couple of months later. This leads to a great story of twists, turns, surprises and lots of STEAM. Donna does great STEAM scenes, as readers of hers will know.This is an older man younger woman story but if that’s not usually your type of read, don’t be put off. It’s not seedy or even slightly taboo. Also the guy on the cover is just how I would picture Alexander.Can’t wait to read about Isla and Van, fingers crossed. Also I hope Griffin gets a story a some point too.
