This one can be trusted. It isn't loud. I actually wished it was a little louder but it does the job. Worth the money as well.

Great musical mobile. My wife and I were 100% done with the wind up one that we had to rewind every 2 to 3 minutes which did little more than disturb our child just as she was nearly asleep. This mobile has been great.If you are replacing one double check if yours has a hook on each end or is like this, a hook on one and a closed hoop on the other. Ours is different than this, but it was easily connected with the addition of a small ring that you open and close with pliers (sorta like a keyring).Several have complained about the volume, I dont think that it's too loud and my daughter does not mind either. If it was I was going to just put a little tape over the speaker to tone it down a bit, no big deal. It plays 12 songs, but only small clips of each and I don't mind that. The noise is more important to my daughter than the duration of each piece.The buttons are for on, off and next song. It plays until the batteries are dead or you turn it off. The hooked end rotates while the music plays. I noticed tht it does rotate slower than or windup model, but again - not a problem.

LOVE this product!!!!! I never thought it was an option to have an on and off switch on the baby's mobile!! I was so sick of turning the knob which meant I had to go right by baby so he could see me and want me to get him. Now I just wait until he's asleep and click the button off! Love that there are multiple songs too, it's so great to not have to hear the same one droning on and on. The tape over the speaker box is a must though. It's super loud otherwise!

This mobile worked pretty well, battery operated, and lightweight. Unfortunately to get multiple songs on it, they cut the length of each one too short. The songs are incomplete. This frustrated my 4 month old son to no end.

I got this to replace the one that I got at my baby shower. It works good, not amazing. It will run for hours without needing to interact with it. Gives you the ability to put your baby down in a safe crib and run to the bathroom.The speaker is loud, I had to place a piece of tape over the holes to muffle the sound. Afterwards it worked fine. I also needed to put 2 of zip ties on the attach points to make it actually work with my Graco mobile. I deducted 1 star for each of these annoyances as if I didn't find a work around for them I'd return it.

We made our own mobile, but really wanted it to spin to catch our girl's attention and have some cute songs. Basically, we wanted to train a Pavlovian response into her so that she would associate the songs with going to sleep and instantly conk out if she heard them (jury is still out on this one). At the very least, we wanted to hypnotize her to sleep.This little device fit the bill perfectly, and was easy to string up to our mobile and hang from the ceiling. Just make sure to hang it low enough that you can easily reach the buttons, because it will NOT turn off automatically unless it runs out of batteries (which are not included - you will need to go get some AA batteries). I really wish it had a timer. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this device is LOUD. And there is no volume control (which is why I knocked off a star). If you are doing shifts at night with a partner, do not turn this on at midnight to soothe your angel to sleep lest you face some serious grumpiness from your SO. This is really effective for diaper change distraction, though!

This is so bad its almost funny. First off, the "SAMYO" sticker was very crooked. Luckily it peeled off easily. Next, there's no way to turn down the volume and it's VERY loud (the only features are the green button which turns it on/ switches songs and the red which turns it off). I got around this as best as I could by taping over the speaker, but its still too loud for my baby to fall asleep to. Even before taping, it sounded like the music was coming from an underwater speaker (which is fine. I didn't expect good quality sound). Lastly, the music plays at a quick tempo. It's more like "playtime" "wake up baby!" music than "sleep time". You can switch songs by pressing the green button, but this feature is useless, because it just cycles through the songs anyway. I guess the one good thing is that hook that spins the mobile works the way I'd expect. Overall, not at all soothing.

This product is exceptional and far superior than the one that came with my original overpriced mobile! The sound quality is sharp and like others noted, "a little on the loud side." However, placing a piece of tape over the speaker helped lower the sound to a more comfortable tone. Some people complained about the fact that it only place snippets of each song, but I really like that feature along with the sound selections.There's a lot to be said about the convenience of the on/off switch as opposed to the traditional wind up kind that would have to be activated more than I'd like. I would definitely recommend this to other moms!
