Engaging way to teach the Apostles Creed
My students loved learning the Apostles Creed through this book the question about faith were provoking and relatable for them. They really enjoyed discussing why they thought the ground was cracked and there were broken keys and locks everywhere when it talked about Jesus descending into Hell. They were excited to find fat cat. The illustrations are beautiful!

Just What I Was Looking For
I am a mother and a pastor who oversees youth and family ministry. I am also married to a pastor who is currently finishing his PhD in Theology. One of my goals is building a solid resource library for the families in the church including my own that teaches them the basics of the Bible and God and worship and gives them a solid foundation as they learn and grow. I had been searching for a good book featuring the Apostle's Creed for years and was delighted when I found this. It was exactly what I was looking for: beautiful pictures, solid God talk that engages both the adult and child, and a bit of whimsy. Our six year old enjoyed finding the cat (who happens to look exactly like very own fat cat) and the pictures. I passed it along to another family for a trial run and they also loved it - it led to a fantastic discussion with the eight year old about some of the topics including different creeds and the four year old loved finding the cat. My husband was deeply impressed and excited to find out there was going to be more books.Thank you for creating the perfect resource for our families!

Little c catholic NOT Big C Catholic
I love this book for our baby arriving soon! Beautifully illustrated and written with the timeless words of the Apostles Creed. I am seeing a lot of reviews from people who do not seem to know the difference between little c catholic (all Christians through time regardless of denominational affiliation) and big C Catholic (the specific affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church). The Apostles Creed belongs to all Christians regardless of church affiliation and only mentions the little c catholic church— which should pose no theological or doctrinal issues for even the staunchest Protestant family. The book itself even clarifies in the back pages that it’s intent is the “all Christians everywhere” definition and not “Roman Catholic” affiliation. That being said, this is a beautiful book any Christian family from any denominational affiliation should love to have!

A treasure!
I heard this recommended on the Allisa Childers podcast and picked it up for a birthday gift. Of course, I read it to my kids first. :) What a lovely exploration of the Apostles Creed! The illustrations are absolutely perfect. The text is illuminating and precious for both children and adults. I’ll be picking up another copy for our family.

Beautiful but specifically references Catholic Church
Really stunning book and well done. I was so happy to find this book because of all the diversity in the images! However, I am not catholic so I was slightly disappointed to see it says “the holy Catholic Church”. Not the end of the world and we will still enjoy and I probably should have read reviews first. Just putting this as a disclaimer to other non Catholics interested in purchasing

Bought this book for one page
This book is so, so good. The art is fantastic, thoughtful, and culturally sensitive (Eve in a headscarf! Hebrew writing integrated as art elements?! the attention to diversity throughout!). But truthfully I went straight here and bought the book when I heard Ben Myers read aloud the "He descended into hell" page on the OnScript podcast. "When I die, Jesus meets me there and takes me by the hand..." And the page for "He will come again": "The one who died for me will be my judge." Beautiful! Highly recommend.

Theology for kids
Ben Myers wrote a fantastic book on the Apostles Creed that my congregation used for a book study. It actually kindled a newfound love for the Apostle’s Creed, and we’ve begun reciting it together regularly instead of the few and far between occasions we had prior. Imagine our delight to discover he made this theological explanation of the creed engaging and accessible for kids! So well done, and beautifully illustrated. I got one for all our families with young kids (and I’m keeping one for myself).

Great Resource
This is a great resource to use with teaching and engaging with the Apostles creed. I am using this with a confirmation class (13+) and will be using with the Sunday School kids in the fall.
