Q: Would this protect you from smaller particulates?

Hey, thanks for the question. Yes, the material is made from a compressed foam. It works well against most fine dust particles found on a construction site like dust from sheetrock/plaster sanding. As long as the particles are not much smaller than this type of dust, you're okay. What type of dust did you specifically have in mind?

Q: Can you wear these under a mask?

I suppose you could but I find it a little hard to breathe when wearing them and then adding a mask I think would even make it worse.

Q: You put that this product has a niosh rating of 8. what does that mean? 80% or 8%? how does that compare to an n95 niosh approved mask?

Hi, thanks for your question. This product is not a NIOSH product as stated on this listing and the packaging. Any claims to the contrary are false. We are aware that there is an incorrect customer answer stating that this product is NIOSH-approved and we are reaching out to Amazon to try to have this removed immediately. Unfortunately Amazon does not have an easy way to remedy this.
