Chilly Dog Black Skull Sweater (XXX-Large)

Update (2023): This is the second sweater I have purchased in this design, and my 14th sweater from this brand (six different dogs). My original review (below) is from over 10 years ago. I just ordered this sweater again, this time for a male French bulldog that weighs 32 pounds, has a 17" neck and measures 24" around the widest part of the chest. I chose a size L and it is a bit long for him (withers to tail is 14") but is otherwise a perfect fit. I just washed it in warm water (hand-wash, line dry) and folded up the extra length and put in a few stitches to hold it in place, and it is now perfect. Same excellent quality of materials and workmanship that I expected from this brand and definitely worth the price.Original review (2012) Our rat terrier is just over 16 pounds and 14" from base of neck to base of tail, but he is pretty stocky and very muscular, with a broad chest, so I ordered a size Medium--and it fits just him perfectly. He is always cold during the winter months, shivering even when he is in the house, and just miserable outside (but he doesn't want to stay cooped up inside all of the time) so I wanted to find something warm as well as durable enough to last through the season. I read lots of reviews for various sweaters and coats before I happened to find this one, and as soon as I saw it, I could just picture him in it...there were only a few reviews for this brand, but from the positive comments and the product description, I figured this was the best option. I'm very happy I purchased this--it is well-made, VERY heavy and warm, and my kids are happy that he doesn't look like a sissy wearing it! At first he wasn't too enthusiastic about it, but within a day or two he got used to it, and now happily wears it every night and whenever he goes outside. I like it so much I just ordered another one in a different pattern so he has something to wear when this one is being washed (I wash it by hand & line dry--takes quite a while to dry--it holds its shape and there is no shrinking). This sweater is great for short-haired dogs or those with a thin coat, but might be too much of a good thing for dogs with thick coats unless it is extremely cold.

Perfect sweater for my 8 lb yorkie. The small is a little big, but it’s wearable and too big is better than too small! This is made with a nice thick knit - the kind of warm sweater i would buy for myself. Good quality and absolutely adorable.

We ordered two of these, size large, for a Cardigan corgi and a corgi mix, 32 & 34 lbs. They fit perfectly! They are nice and long too, which is great for this dog breed. The turtleneck will keep their necks nice and warm also. I really like that they are organic, fair trade etc., well-made, and the price was great! Our dogs don't like wearing clothes, but so far they don't mind these sweaters at all.

I absolutely love Chilly Dog sweaters! I got my pup the monster one last year and thought she naturally needed another one for Christmas this year! She's 50 lbs, 21” long, 26" chest, and 16" neck so I got her an XL. It's a bit long, but shrunk nicely in the wash to fit her better.They are really soft and snuggly. It's snowing today and as soon as I put it on, she snuggled up for a snow day nap.

The sweater is a good quality, and attractive. It is, however, too small in the neck and leg holes for my 115lb. Pit/Corso mix, Kirby. It would be better if it could attach via velcro rather than a turtle neck that has to be pulled over the dogs head. Then you have to bend his legs backward to fit through the leg holes. I will have to throw it away. I

Thick, warm, adorable, I mean ..... come ON.Mocha is a 50-lb pit bull mix, so barrel-chested and wasp-waisted. This fits great, not too snug around the arms and chest, but I'm careful taking it off because the first one we ordered was split along a seam. It covers her all the way to the base of her tail, but stays completely out of the way while she does her business. She hates it, but she hates Maine winters more.

This is a really well made sweater however if you have a long legged thin bodied dog the sizing chart is not correct. It was too big for my 14 lb. Jack Russell....Because of the good quality materials I ended up keeping it and ordered the next size down knowing a deserving dog of the correct size to fit it.Leg slits versus sleeves make wearing it more comfortable for most dogs. Also dogs with long backs will appreciate the generous coverage over the hips. Turtleneck folds down or can be work up.I will get the replacement sweater today and hope for a better fit!

Ummm could this sweater BE any cuter??? No The answer you are looking for is no.Great wonderful high quality sweaters! Made so well, crafted exquisitely out of natural fibers and dyes.Fits very well - my guy has some Staffy and some Hound, so tall lanky, barrel chested ... nothing ever fits him right.But these sweaters DO! They are the only ones I will buy for him and they last forever!
