Q: Is the background blue color a baby blue or more of a turquoise blue?

The background is definitely more turquoise than baby blue. It matches a set of towels I purchased elsewhere that were called sea foam in color, a light greenish-blue.

Q: is a good for kitchen area near sink?

Personally, they are thin although so nice and soft, that I woukd be leery that it would not hold up to multiple washings. But I'm a sloppy dish washer and cook! It might need washing more often. I have 2 in the hallways and just tried to get the 4x 6 for under my kitchen table. I live alone and don't entertain all that often but I absolutely love the colors in the beige rug. But it's out of stock. So I love the rug and haven't needed to wash it yet but personally I don't think it will hold up to the wear and tear it could get in front of the sink. I'll know more after a few washings. I know I'm a messy person in the kitchen dropping things, spilling things, and dripping water. They are not that expensive so if you really like it and maybe wash it every 6 months or so, it may last. If it doesn't you can buy another without busting your budget. As I've said, I have the beige and love it.

Q: Can somebody describe the colors in the paisley rug?

Light blue and other muted colors it has oranges yellows and other soft colors, it really very pretty
