Easy to understand introduction to the Stock Market!
Great book to get you started in the Market and think about what kind of investments work for you. Takes out the mystery and doesn’t overwhelm with a lot of unnecessary techno jargon. It’s just a start but a good read!

Start here if you're new to the stock market
The stock market is always been difficult for me to understand. If you're like me, then start with this book. It gives a detailed but easily digestible history on what stocks are and how the market started, as well as strategies on how to buy your first stocks with pros and cons to each approach. It's a lot to take in, so you'll want to keep this book on hand for reference.

Not for beginners
I think the book misses the mark because it doesn't cover fundamentals like "cost basis". One of the most important elements for a beginner as they will have to make sure they keep good records to track capital gains/loss and manage one's tax position. The book doen't mention it. There are also disappointments with the amount of repeated content. I think though the biggest disappointment is with the somewhat subtle nudging toward a broker (fees for nothing...and a good chance to get ripped off) and then the extensive exhortations to make sure you check all the details of a company before investing...price, history, ratios, projections, personalities, comparisons, market expecations, etc. etc. One would have to be retired and aimless in life to afford so much time to investigate to the degree prposed. Yes, it would be great if one could cover all that territory but then you wouldn't be a 'beginner' any more....you'd be a shark. IMHO the "Little book of common sense investing" makes it simple and supports the books strategy with historical and current data. As an engineer, I like data.
