Best Base for Cantilever Umbrella
This is the best option for a large cantilever umbrella base. It is unobtrusive and does not need to be moved or stored when the umbrella is not in use. It also costs less than the weighted bases. It works great in my lawn for my patio umbrella.

Love the low profile / so far so good without concrete
I was so sure I’d need concrete for this base since cantilever umbrellas tend to be really heavy but so far it’s staying rock solid. It took all my effort to screw it in and I was surprised how sturdy it felt. Even if we do end up having to put it in concrete I like the design. My biggest gripe is that the base for the cantilever umbrella can only be inserted ONE WAY- this means you have to know exactly how it has to be rotated as you install or you will need a rotating umbrella (which I didn’t realize not all of them rotate which is super stupid honestly). I ended up returning my first umbrella to get a rotating one and am happy with this setup.

Not suitable for soft soil
Installing the screw was easy enough, but I have clay-like soil and the smallest amount of wind easily moved the base out of level. I set the screw in concrete and its been fine since.

No More Cumbersome Umbrella Bases!!!
Me and my husband have been dealing with overly heavy and inconvenient umbrella bases for the last several years at our home. Nothing has worked overly well, but there aren’t very many options either. I have researched and researched and my husband specifically said that he wanted something that he can pop in and out of a base that worked just like a standard umbrella and could be hidden. I told him it was impossible with the cantilever style umbrellas. But I kept searching and searching and I have finally found it!!! Thank goodness for this company because we finally found exactly what we’re looking for! We are very excited for how well this works, and will be adding so many more to our yard as it is a versatile way to create shade for our west facing home. We have very Rocky soil, as well as Clay, we did decide to dig a hole and put in about 100 pounds of cement to ensure it’s stability.

Solid
I set this in clay type soil and have had no issues with stability. I started with a triple market umbrella and then swapped in 9ft offset umbrella and have had no issues over the summer.

Not returnable without a restocking fee
I purchased these polls along with the bases to places in a corner of my backyard where my plants were overheating. I quickly found out that unless you plan to anchor these in concrete, that normal dirt will not support bases that support these polls. Our daily wind gusts would have the shade sail whipping around as well as these polls leaning heavily to the side. I really wanted it to work- this was the cheaper option to having something built. But the poles are way too heavy to support the sail, in a base located in the dirt. I returned the bases and poles and learned of the restocking fee. Be aware that there is a 20% restocking fee if these do not work for you.

Must be set in concrete with care
I screwed it into hard ground, and it loosened up immediately. I was able to lift it out with my hands. The leverage applied from an umbrella or sail shade post definitely will not work well unless set in concrete, so that’s what I did. Unfortunately, there is now way to tell if you will have it fully inserted in the proper orientation. It is now permanently set in concrete where the telescoping post is at the wrong angle and umbrella base is about 20 degrees rotated from where it should be.

Needs to be BELOW ground
The height of this product (level with the ground) causes the base to be above the ground rather than flush with it. Which causes a wobble.
