The blade is beefy and has a slicey grind. 14c28n steel is the best mid-grade steel you can buy, and is easy to sharpen with awesome toughness. The G-10 handles look like wood and have nice colors that look like snakeskin. This knife is great for everything from food prep to light chopping, thanks to its unique secondary lock bar that keeps the liner lock in place. This blade is locked in tight. Oh, it also has a glass breaker for car emergencies. I have dozens of knives of all value, but none I value more. Mine came razor sharp out of the box. If you have small hands the grip works for me. If you have larger size hands you may find the grip too small. Texture of grip material could be more comfortable and the weight is not to heavy for EDC if wearing jeans or cargo pants. Build quality and blade material for this price is a good value. I would recommend this knife for the price.

Knife is very solid, well built, perfectly centered blade, drop shutty, excellent quality piece, especially for $35. And anyone that I show it to loves the rattlesnake color/patterned scales. Good work Sanrenmu.

I have purchased many of these for my family. They have performed very well and I think the heat treat has achieved a rockwell hardness of at least 60. The steel performs very well. The handle material is well built with no hotspots and opening and closing is smooth. The clip is strong, but at least it last. It's impressed me and 5 mechanic/welder/machinest in my family who are tough on everything! I highly recommend the 1006, and the 1005 is probably just as good. I've just ordered the NEW SLT japanese san mai fixed blade and will post if this is real Japanese SLT steel, although my questions to Hardcore about this was responded with "What is your problem?". They might be selling good Sanremnu knives, but the customer service leaves MUCH to be desired,
