Defective
This product is defective. The blade does not fit properly and wiggles around too much making it unusable. I have used cutters like this for decades and never seen such a flaw in manufacturing. More disappointing is Amazon’s handling of my return of the product. They made me source shipping from Canada to the US, which nearly cost as much as the product. They claim they never got back the goods. So I am out the cost of the product and even more in two shipping charges.

this is always handy to have
great little box cutter... getting harder to find in your local hardware stores... this is compact, and I like the second way you can use this... as a scraper. surprised no other little box cutter made this an option... and one cool bonus is, you can write you name in sharpie, so no one can take it while you are not looking!!! very handy to have.

Great
Great blades! Very high quality. Someone stole my box of blades at the lab but I understand the blades are good! Very smooth, last a while.

With a little tweaking, they’re great.
I just love the simplicity of these old box cutters. They take up almost no room at all, and every grocery store employee in the ‘70s had one in their pocket. The fact that they still make them shows what a genius design it is. There’s no safety – this is from a time when you had to use your head, and personal responsibility was king.I bought these because I break down a lot of boxes. My recycle bin is small, so I have to cut up the cardboard into small pieces. Utility knives are great for boxes too, but they don’t work so well for scraping stickers and paint off windows. These can do both.Besides the simplicity of the tool, I love that they’re so lightweight and small. You can keep them (hide them?) pretty much anywhere, and always have a sharp cutter nearby. The inner pieces made of sheet metal arrive very sharp on the scraper ends. I dragged them across a file to take that sharp edge off, but it would have been nice if that was done before shipping. This company uses a metal grommet, instead of spot-welding the inner piece together. That grommet’s pretty sharp, too, but I cured that by using a hammer and anvil to flatten it out. I assume this was done so that an automated machine could use the holes to ensure it was bent exactly in half, but I prefer the old spot-weld technique.Out of the box, there’s no way anyone could pull or push the inner part in or out of the sleeve. The harder you try, the tighter it locks in, because your thumb and forefinger are squeezing the case tighter. The only way to use these without modification is to tap them very firmly onto a hard surface to open or close. But that’s the nature of this type of box cutter. Just take a butter knife and you can easily adjust the amount of tension you want by twisting slightly to open it up a little. If you open it too much, you can just press on the seam with the inner part removed. Super simple.Once I tweaked the cutter and took care of the sharp edges, it’s just about perfect.Pros -+ Lightweight and very small form factor – can keep one anywhere.+ Simple to operate and change blades.+ Very inexpensive.+ Goes through cardboard boxes like buttah.+ Can be used as a cutter or scraper.+ Blades are cheap , and can be found anywhere.Cons -- Too tight out of the box without adjustment.- Sharp edges need to be sanded or filed.Hope this helps. Blades are cheap
