Gorgeous, scholarly book with easy-to-digest short thematic introductions to key themes and cultural issues that frame the individual art objects presented, in lovely photographic detail. Amazing book, useful as a guide to individual works in the British Museum (similar to others in other museums) and for teaching and students at the intro or intermediate level of Islamic art.

Nice book with great photographs

Covers a lot of ground in a compact volume. Still the pictures are so enticing I would have liked them to be bigger and printed on glossy paper.

Purchased this book to give to a friend, but the cover of the book was very filthy.Not impressed!
