Storelli BodyShield Leg Guards, Premium Compression Shin Guard Sleeves for Soccer Players, UV-Resistant, Unisex, 1 Pair

My 9-year-old daughter plays club soccer and she *loves* these. She feels confident and safe. She had outgrown her previous generic full ankle shin guards (the kind you'd buy at any big box store), plus they had gotten pretty stinky. I love that we can wash these.The fit seems OK, although at 4' 4" (when we bought them) I regret ordering the Small instead of the Medium for her. She also has larger feet, and so the ankle area seems to be the hardest part of these to get on. At her age, there is still a lot of stepping on / kicking in the ankles, and so the padding on the ankles was still a must for me. We're two seasons in and they've held up splendidly. I'm certain we'll outgrow them before they break down.I would recommend going a size up if you're within an inch or two of their size chart, especially since it seems my daughter will have long outgrown these before they wear out.I've been happy enough with these to consider trying their goalkeeper gear.

The Daughter plays club soccer and she loves them. She uses Adidas Predator plates. They fit in the pocket perfect and don’t slide around. The padding provides great protection but not bulky enough to get in the way. I would recommend using ankle socks and leg sleeves for comfort. Apposed to traditional soccer socks. She has played six games and practice four days a week, and they still look brand new. Great quality. Will definitely buy again when she out grows them

Very comfortable . Use it instead of long socks and put my shin pads in . Bit pricey but worth it

These shinguards weren't exactly as I had hoped. They did the initial job, holding the shinguards in place, but I had to use another shin guard holder in order for them to definantly not shimmy around. The design was very sleek though, it was a nice solid black with some bright green. The fabric wasn't super tight, but instead it was very breathable, which made it comfortable to wear and play soccer in.

I bought these for my average height/weight 8 yr old son (size small) and 10 yr old daughter (size medium) to replace their worn out shin guards with the velcro straps under the knee and stinky strap under the foot. They loved them immediately and said were soooo much more comfortable, my daughter said "they feel like socks"! My son declared them 'slippery cozy' and 'smooth' and the best Christmas gift of the day (?!!) I immediately gave away all of their old gear and bought them more Storelli leg guards to keep up with how often they'll be using them. They both play "club" soccer 4x-6x/week and I wash them and line dry them every time they play because they get sweaty like a sock.Comfort: (1) These give them some extra compression for good blood flow up from their legs (2) this summer I expect they will be able to just wear ankle socks with them to avoid doubling up with the usual knee high soccer socks and getting too many layers on their legs in the heat. (3) these put a layer of fabric between the skin and the hard shin guard, which helps minimize stink and skin rash problems (we've had kids on the team not be able to play for a few weeks due to irritation/rashes on their shins from their guards), and (4) my kids play a lot of soccer, both play defense, and as they get older, the games get rougher, they love the extra protection of this product.I love their "ease of use" because (1) I am so tired of the old velcro-strapped shin guards which constantly snagged my kids socks as well as ruined more than a few team jerseys in their bag, (2) since they are a smooth fabric and the hard part (the actual shin guard, purchased separately) slips inside the pocket, my kids have an easier time pulling on their soccer socks over the guards - again no more snagging straps or edges to get caught on and I don't have to help my youngest, who got really frustrated trying to get on his soccer socks over his old-style guards.I only wish I'd started with this product when my kids first started playing U6. It is a much better design, well worth the price if your kids love to play.

This is my 3rd paid of Storelli Leg Sleeves, my other 2 are the shorter calf-length version, which doesn't includes the ankle protection.I play indoor and outdoor soccer, on turf and grass, so I feel I’ve put them through a fair amount of wear. The fabric Storelli uses for these is great! My socks have ripped/torn from sliding, yet these hold up against all the abrasion, and so far are still in very good shape - no holes or tears as of yet (I would estimate having played ~25 games with these).The sleeve is just tight enough to hold the shin guard in place, but not too tight as to cut off circulation (assuming you purchased the correct size sleeve). Normally I tape above and below the shin guards to hold them in place, but with these sleeves, I do not need to use tape.The top of the sleeves are elastic, and have additional rubberized textured grips on the inside to keep them in place - they definitely work!Taking them off is as easy as rolling the sleeve from the top down; don’t try pulling from the bottom...the rubberized inner grip will grip your skin, and you might tear the stitching.As for the additional padding on the ankle and outside rear of the calf, it’s fairly thin, but durable and protective. Please don’t think that padding is as protective as a shin guard, it is not; however, it absolutely helps your calf from a mildly grazing kick, or rough ground that might typically give you a turf burn.Washing - just throw them in the washing machine..super easy! Storelli advises not to dry them in a dryer (I’ve followed these instructions, so I cannot say whether or not these will hold up in a dryer).Do I recommend these? Absolutely Yes! Especially for younger kids who are playing competitively.
