Easy to fit straight replacement
Easy cheap fix for a common problem with Fords. The only down side is that the fans don't seem quite as powerful since fitting the replacement.

Fiesta aircon now working perfectly.
Managed to fix the Ford Fiesta in a few minutes. Saved around £100 at the garage, and about half a day of faffing.PLENTY of guides on how to do it online - really simple.

Fixed my AC issues
My mk2 focus from when I bought it would only blow on 3 and 4. A garage would've wanted a nice chunk to diagnose/replace this. If you've made it this far, then you're already 99% of the way to saving yourself £100+ to get it fixed by a garage. One thing to note - do not test this resistor outside of its designated hiding spot in the back of the glove box, screw it in first before you turn the car on. The slot it sits in actually keeps it cool, and it will smoke and burn out if you try and turn it on outside of the slot.

does the job. i now have a 4 speed fan again.
bought for a ford fusion and the fitting is on the drivers side of the heater matrix, it,s in a very difficult position where you need to lie on your back leaning over the doorstep and almost blindly undoing 2 torx screws after removing the wire connector, then refitting the new.if your fan only runs at full speed then it is likely that this resistor is at fault.my fusion fan was noisy when i bought it 5 yrs ago, then it went to full speed only as the struggling fan had burnt out the resistor and even after changing the resistor a few yrs ago, the fan also burnt out the replacement resistor, this time round i had to replace the fan, the heater control unit and the resistor so all is now well.the fan was also a nightmare to fit, up behind the glovebox, under dashboard and removing the fusebox, again lying on my back into the footwell.i,m a very experienced diy mechanic over 60 so wouldnt look forward to doing the job again.
