What’s the minimum height? My gate is 42 inches

Diagonal 40" ? How much will be the height of the gate?

Would this be okay for a gate that will be around 6.5-7 feet tall, or would it be best to get the 10 footer? Gate will be 4 feet wide

The easiest way is to go out and measure your gate diagonally and then find the size of the True Latch gate brace that will work within the diagonal dimension of your gate. Without knowing where your attachment points are going to be (and basically guessing for you) you can use a tape measure or sewing measuring rollup tape for example and measure from the two points you will attach to on your fence gate. Then pick a size that will telescopic (adjust) to the size that fits nicely in the range of the braces below: Here are the brace sizes and dimensions that they will extend from and up to: 64" Original: 64" exactly (non- telescopic) 6' Telescopic : Extends from 40" up to 72" inches 7.5' Telescopic: Extends from 47" up to 90" inches 8" Telescopic : Extends from 52" up to 96" inches 9' Telescopic : Extends from 64' up to 108" inches 10' Telescopic : Extends from 64" up to 120" inches So, your gate size is 7' tall an 4' wide. If you plug it into a Pythagorean theorem calculator on Google, your diagonal in theory be: 8.06 feet if you are attaching to the very, very outer corner, which obviously you will not be. You likely will be attaching back from the side a few inches and down from the top of the gate a few inches and up a few inches from the bottom of the gate typically. So, if you measured it, you likely are just under 8' foot in length. So, technically the 8' footer would work (because you would likely be under 96" inches), but just barely. This would only leave about 4 or 5" inches of overlap with your main brace and the extension piece. So, in your case I would recommend the 9' footer or the 10' footer for a little better overlap of your two pieces for more rigidity. Brad True Latch

Does anyone know if this will help straighten a twisted gate?

I was truly impressed with how well the true latch 8' gate brace worked on my gates. I have 5'8" gates and they were just built out of treated 2x4s and they were still pretty wet which made my gate pieces pretty heavy. The brace was SWEET and did its job. I would not hesitate purchasing another one of these.
