Drive-up Club Car DS 48 Volt Forward Reverse Switch Assembly with Handle, Micro Switch for Golf Cart 1996-Up

This is a direct replacement for the original switch on golf carts (in my case a '99 Club Car DS). It was easy to install, appears to be of high quality. So far, very satisfied. It remains to be seen how long lived it is, but I expect it will work very well!

Had an older golf cart that couldn't reverse. Ordered this but I waited to disconnect the old switch until I was ready to install. Installed wire by wire to new switch so I wouldn't get wires messed up. Although it was intimidating to think about doing it, fairly easy if you take your time. Took me 40 mins total but most of that time trying to find right wrench to unscrew everything

Burned up after less than 5 months of use. Plastic melted and deformed, leaving the cart with no reverse.

We live in a golf cart community, so we use our golf cart a LOT more than the average person. This part was a drop in place replacement for our 2008 club car. I wish I could leave one review for the product and one review for the company. The company gets 5/5 stars for customer service. The replacement parts gets a 3.5 stars. This handle is not "heavy duty." They use pretty much the exact same connectors and bus bars as the stock machine. If they used a more heavy duty bolt for the electricity transfer, and heavy duty bus bar then it would be "heavy duty." As it is you're eventually going to melt this part after enough time. I'd love to see some heavier duty parts used in this, and maybe a metal, or higher temperature resistant plastic used to house the bolts. I know as someone who uses their golf cart a ton I would definitely buy a heavier duty parts like that.

so far so good . bought same part last yr an it lasted approx 1 month, newest one appears to be a lot better, but time will tell.

After disconnecting the batteries I just switched out wire for wire until they were all connected. I have a 99 Club Car DS so the only problem was the the bolts that hold it to the cart were too long. So I had to use the old ones. If you don’t have an extra supply of nuts and washers I would keep what you take off handy as I dropped a star washer and never could find it. I gave it 5 stars for ease of installation as there wasn’t anything associated with the switch that made it any harder it was and the wires in the golf cart that made it more difficult

Had a repair guy tell me that the stuff he gets "Off Amazon" he usually needs to return... defective.Working fine form me and at a great price... $120 less than he quoted -- if that tells you anything. : )
