We had an old water meter opening on our property that had been converted into a spot for a cleanout. However the metal cover was busted in four pieces and left the larger hole in the lot that was big enough to be a problem for tires, and would break someone's ankle if they stepped into the hole wrong. After taking several measurements and doing some research, I went with this product because replacement metal covers were easily $200+. This piece fit into the space perfectly, has a small lip on it to catch the frame, and is super durable. I could tell the moment I pulled it out of the package that it was going to work perfect!

Took a chance as some reviews said that this item wouldn't fit a 12" culvert. I expected to have to chamfer the edge to make it fit, but this cover fit the pipe perfectly (grate installed vertically). I drilled two holes in the pipe and zip-tied it in place. The grate itself is heavy duty and well made.UPDATE: Two years later and the grate is holding up very well. I have it installed in a spot that doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight and the unit still looks like new. We've had several complete gulley washers since I installed it and the grate is up to the task. It has kept tons of leaves and other debris from entering the pipe.UPDATE 2: Getting on better part of four years now and this grate is still holding up remarkably well. Almost looks like new. Would recommend this item to anyone without reservation.UPDATE 3: Coming up on seven years now and this grate is holding up well. Based on my experience, these things might hold up forever.

If you need a 12 inch drain cover then this is it. It’s a little pricey but I don’t have a factory that makes them so whatevs. It’s really thick and sturdy and it appears you can drive and hop up and down on it.

My pond overflow did not have a cover and one day I noticed a small animal running into the drain and out the other end. I immediately began looking for a solution. This is when I found the Black Outdoor Catch Basin Flat Round Grate Cover.The Black Outdoor Catch Basin Flat Round Grate Cover is made of a heavy duty resin material and has a couple holes already drilled into them. This made installation easy. The one challenge that I had was that the covers are not wide enough to cap the pipe. Instead they are small enough to fit inside of the pipe. Because of this, I ended up using zip ties and wedged wood on the top drain to keep it in place. The horizontal pipe did not pose the same issue since it pretty much sat where I placed it. However, I would have liked for the cover to fit snug.All in all, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend, but just know that it is not a tight fit and you may end up having to supplement with something to make it hold tightly.

Arrived ahead of promised due date.Solid construction. Fits well covering the 12” end of corrugated pipe.

The item was exactly 12" as advertised but my drain had a small lip around it. The grate wouldn't fit down into my drain. The problem may have been just my drain and not the cover. Before buying the cover I would measure the exact opening of the hole and not include any lip that might prevent the cover from fitting into the hole.

I bought it for a commercial kitchen drain. Exact fit!
