Toshiba MQ01ABD050V 2.5 inch 500GB SATA Internal Hard Drive

Bought to replace the non starting drive on our Manhattan freeview box.Easy to install and worked perfectly following a factory reset option found in the settings menu. Nothing more to say, repaired a £160 box for £15.

My Freesat Box with 500gb HDD is just over 2 years old and admittedly doesn’t get used very much, but I was disappointed to discover a hard disk problem when I tried to use it over Christmas. Re-booting did not fix it so a quick internet search confirmed that these items are prone to failure. There are loads of videos on YouTube to show you how to change it and this purchase was worth the risk given how cheap it was. Initially, I thought that it was not working, but it just took a long time to format itself, probably 20mins and then it sprung into life. This has only just been fitted so if it fails in the short term, I will update the review.

Fast delivery, exactly as expected. This was a like for like replacement for the drive in a Humax FreeSat box. Straight swap and all looks to be working fine so far.

My Freesat box HD stopped working. So I looked at a new box but expensive. So when checking online for a fix I came across a web chat which suggested a replacement HD. I took the relevant serial/model number and got this one. A pretty straightforward install and hey presto a working box. Not only did it solve the issue it also saved lots in expenditure. Thoroughly recommend

This was an exact replacement for the Free sat 4k tv box hard drive that stopped working. Took 5 mins to replace and was the same model of drive as the original.Very easy fix and plenty of videos on net showing how to replace. Started up as soon as switched back on.Perfect.

Returned for refund! this is the second time i have purchased this drive purchased. 1st one lasted just over a year but this one only lasted 2 weeks. Drrives bought for a freesat recorder which gets minimal use about 3 hours weekly recording.Replaced with Crucial SSD it's made the box quick and silent

Fitted to Arris Freesat box, minutes to fit, took longer to take out and re fit the various cables on back of the box than swapping the hard drive. You will need the torx security type bit for the 2 screws. Only thing I can't comment on is longevity, the original toshiba drive on lasted 19months.

Bought the hard drive to replace the one that stopped working in my Freesat Box. Box is only 3 years old so didn’t really want to buy a new complete box. Easy to take old one out and replace with the new one which is working absolutely fine. Would definitely recommend and saved a lot of money!
