Great for Alaska cruise
Not too big, not too heavy. Easy peasy to use. Perfect for an occasional wilderness experience.

Light and comfortable
Got these for a trip to Africa. Needed a lightweight pair to keep baggage weight down for internal flights in Africa (20KG limit -- including carry-ons). They were fine, though of course not as nice as full-sized. The main difference with full size is a narrower field of vision. But vision quality is good.

Small and inexpensive.
Small and inexpensive. I wouldn't want these as my only binoculars, but they're nice to have in a pocket for a quick view.

Very nice pocket size binoculars
These are very nice pocket size light weight binoculars. They compare nicely to similar size binoculars costing twice as much or more. The case included is terrible though. Much too tight, you have to struggle to get them out. Don't loose the eyepiece caps like I did. I have been unable to find replacements anywhere.

Good value for compact binocs
Very happy with compact binocs. They do have a long eye relief that is good w/ glasses, but requires me to hold them a little distant from the eye to get a full field of view. Still pleased. Nice clear image.

Excellent for travel -- light weight and excellent optics
There are plenty of cheap, lightweight binoculars out there, and good ones that are pretty bulky, but these are both optically superior and small.

great for our trip
we were constantly traveling with backpacks on a cruise and these binoculars surprised us at how much they magnified for such a small form factor. I found the image to be very stable if I held them a few mm away from my face. We used them to spot whales, eagles, and seals while traveling around Alaska.

I like this glass!
Bought these to replace older Nikon Sportstar II compact binoculars (similar price range), which fogged up on a damp river trip leaving poor image quality. I wear eyeglasses, and I could never get a full field of view with the Nikons due their short eye relief even with the eye cups folded down. The edges were always indistinct and blurry. The Pentax has longer eye relief and eye cups that quickly telescope out for spectacles-free viewing, and retract for eyeglass wearers. Way better than chintzy fold-down eye cups. With the Pentax I get the full, clear field of view with sharp edges. Also the Pentax is fog proof and waterproof, rated submersible to one meter for 30 minutes. One drawback I see is that the Pentax is a bit larger and heavier than my old Nikons, but I think this can be attributed to superior build quality and optics. The green color is dark green, which reads as almost black. Now the question is, "How will this glass hold up over time?"Added info: After doing more research, I believe this Pentax is roughly equivalent to the Nikon Trailblazer model, which is also waterproof and has telescoping eye cups with similar size and weight, but the Nikon only has 10 mm of eye relief while the Pentax has 21mm eye relief--much better for eyeglass wearers. I prefer 8x magnification over 10x because 8x provides a significantly larger field of view, which makes it easier to find targets in the glass.
