Q: How long does it take to dry?

It depends on the weather, humidity,& how thick you spray it on. I used it on flags. I laid them flat on the ground in the afternoon sun. Then I turned them over and sprayed the other side. I wasn't in a hurry & left them on one side about an hour then did the other. I think it states it only takes about 30 minutes to dry at the most. I've also used it on cushions, patio umbrellas & the dogs rain coats. It really does work. Colors don't fade either. Hope this helps.

Q: How many cans do I need to coat a 55 liter backpack?

Not sure how big a 55-liter backpack is if you soak it with 2 cans it will never give you a problem i used 4 cans on my boat cover and it has no leaked a drop water beeds up and rolls right off and it has been out in the weather all season
