Narex Richter Bevel Edge Chisel Set of 5

These are very good chisels for the money, easily up to professional standards. They feel good in the hand and have only slight edges so can get into tight corners. I've had quite a few chisels over the years and these are some of the best. They require sharpening out of the box, but minimal work overall compared to other expensive chisels I've owned. Overall I'm very happy with the quality and value for money. To be honest I wouldn't bother getting Lie Nielsen, I'd save a few pounds and get these instead.

They say you get what you pay for. Can’t fault these chisels. They are very comfortable to handle. Great looking tools.

The steel is definitely tough and it stays sharp. The handles are made from ash however, and its a bit soft for not having a collar at the top. My wood mallet digs into the grain at the top of the chisel handle and I wonder how long before the damage is severe.

Narex are known as a fine engineering company and this chisel set is typical of that history. Very nicely presented in the box, blades are flat, ground and polished to 25 deg and overall excellent quality. I put a 30 deg secondary bevel on them and they performed great with no further work required. Highly recommended.

Love these chisels,not used on any major projects yet will update in time.

I did not expect, at this price point, to have to spend SO long honing the backs!They are a superb item and, when my arms recover, I look forward to many years of use.

I thought i would splash out on a good set of chisels as for 25 years i have used named brand cheaper sets.only to have a sliver come off the side after only 2 hits with a mallet.usually I work with hard woods such as oak ( most of the time hundreds of years old in my line of work ) but this was on some cheap construction grade pine.at first the customer feedback was great so I thought I would hold back with my review and i thought things were being sorted, but I have waited another 3 weeks without word.I have since bought a couple of my usual brand. These are now a very expensive paper weight.you cant go wrong with a red and yellow handle im thinking now.this is an update to the above review, still no joy with a replacement although I get a lovely message from customer services whenever I write anything or get in touch telling me they are in production,,, as if they are hand crafted. I have now put these down to 1star. just down to the service I will probably ask for a full refund and I send set back as I have not used since.28th 1st 2022Another update.. still no word from these people. So I gather all other correspondence was lies to keep me happy.I have still not used any of these chisels. And it looks like I'm stuck with over a hundred pounds worth of tin .

My partner got me these chisels as a Father’s Day present, the cardboard box is legit, the wooden presentation box is legit (I think) but the chisels are £10 chisels at best! The Narex logo isn’t even on them, just the sizes and some Chinese writing. Not ash handled. The handles are rough cut and poorly varnished. The blades are rough and pitted not smooth ground and polished, poor quality steel despite the printed ‘CR-V’. Not £170 worth of chisels at all! Doesn’t match the description even remotely.
