Q: How much does it weigh and is it easy to move around for an elderly lady?

I'm seventy, and I move it fine, but it is heavier than some others. I'd say it weighs about 7 lbs and is easy to move or carry as long as you do not have to drag it up and down stairs. You can pull it along easily by the Long handle if you do not want to pick it up and carry it. Unless you have a disability in you arms or hands, you should have no problem.

No, the handle isn't attached. You have to insert it yourself and it is wobbly due to the way it attaches (via two small buttons).

Q: what is the height of the step?

I would say about a foot. With the bar to hold onto it is pretty easy to step up. It is very handy - I originally purchased it to get in and out of the bathtub and it worked very well until I got a tub bench. Now I just use it around the house. Hope this help.
