So far, I'm liking this smaller version of the 727!
This knife was pretty good right out of the box. I haven't had to put a torx driver to it, or use any knife oil, and it's pretty snappy. This is the smaller version of the 727 (thus the 's' in the model number). I have sent back three versions of the medium size version of this knife. Each had a fault that I just couldn't live with. This knife has great ergos, a great blade shape, and is just fun to use. The 'fidget factor' is high on this knife. I love the 'axis' type lock. It's a lot of fun to flip it open and closed. I like the lighter weight of this knife, compared to the 'medium' size.As long as this knife works correctly, I'll be happy with it. However, if it starts to develop a rattle, or I'm getting too much 'bounce back' when I close the knife...back she will go! I really hope this is, 'the one'.I also own Ganzo's 704, which is fantastic. And, the Ganzo 7601, also a winner! I like what Ganzo does. I don't think you can beat them for value.

Love this
I don’t have the expensive knife this Ganzo firebird is modeled after but this knife I’d better than it should be for less than 24$ with tax. It’s not the knife it was modeled after, it’s not gonna compare I’m sure. It’s got good qc, and seems well put together. The action is a little stiff but seems to get smoother as it’s used more, or it could be that I’m building up calluses where I pull the axis lock to close it. The opening is ok, it’s really satisfying to flick it open and get the positive click that it’s locked open and then quickly pull the axis lock and flick it back closed— repeatedly. Like a fidget spinner for adults. I was breaking down large boxes for the recycle bin and had a box folded flat (2 layers) and I was handily able to just pull the cardboard towards me and the knife cut nice and straight with just the pressure of me pulling the cardboard toward me. I’m super impressed for the price.

Good value
Overall it going to be hard to beat the value. This was my first crossbar lock and I find the mechanism a little stiff for my arthritic hands. Size wise it about the same as my para 3 but the para 3 finger choil alway me to choke up and get a better grip the firebird grip seems a just a hair short for me and allows my pinky finger to slip I would probably go in my rotation if not for the strong lockup but at this price I’m not going to return it Ian more than likely gift it to a freind

Amazing for the price, seriously
I bought this just as a beater so i don’t have to feel guilty abusing my expensive knives, and wow. I’m more than impressed. Right out of the box you have better action than any benchmade I’ve ever owned (brand new that is), blade is almost sharp enough to cut hair but slices paper clean. Not too heavy but it does have a little weight. G10 feels great, handle feels good with a full grip. 440c is a pretty solid steel, blade is sturdy with no play, and centers perfectly when closed. All in all, 1000% recommend for anyone looking for a decent EDC knife thats satisfying to fidget with and very handy. Its $22. Almost hard to believe for the quality. Will purchase another ganzo fb in the future for sure.

Closest I've come to replacing my Benchmade Mini-grip.
Misplaced my Benchmade Mini-grip that I've had for 10 years; paid $75 at the time...now costs $150. This knife is not USA made but is still a good bet for the price point, and offers the features I had on the Bebchmade. Thumb-stud allows for a qulick deployment, the axis locks up nicely and is easy to close the blade without getting a finger in the way. I actually like the blade shape better than the Mini-grip, but the case is bulkier, not as ergonomic with edges not as tapered as the Mini. The pocket clip, which is reversible, does not allow the knife to ride as low in the pocket as the Mini-grip. However, it is the closest knife I've found to the Benchmade and, at $20, I can afford to lose it.

It's good, but not as good as I was expecting.
Overall, this isn't a bad knife, but the thumb studs get stuck on my pocket when pulling the knife out and the edges on the crossbar are a bit sharp, so it really digs into my finger tips to operate the lock. I'll do some alterations to get it where it's comfortable and call it good, but I was honestly expecting a bit more from Ganzo/Firebird based on all the reviews I've heard from other people.

A Knife Worth Every Penny
The FB727S is like my 9th Ganzo Firebird. Next to the Firebird F753m1, it is my favorite EDC. With a 3" blade it is a perfect size. Mine has the black G10 scales and the look and feel are that of a much more expensive knife. The fit/finish are flawless - I can't find a single flaw or defect with this knife. It came sharp, if not the sharpest knife I've bought. A couple swipes on a ceramic rod and a strop took care of that, now it's razor-sharp.The action is very good; you can use the thumbstuds or axis lock to flick the blade open/close. The G10 scales have a subtle, pleasant tactility and they are chamfered, eliminating any sharp edges, and providing a very comfortable in-hand feel. The clip slides easily into your pocket but is not completely deep carry. The blade is handsome and relatively thin; it is an excellent slicer; it came well-centered and there is no side-to-side or vertical blade play.It is hard to find a better made knife for the price. If you're looking for a quality knife, this is a superb value.

My best knife purchase for month of June
I have been eyeing this knife for a few months and a couple of days ago I decided to purchase. I have to say I am glad I did. This knife is really perfect for me. I have made it my EDC and I think it will be just that for awhile. The knife fits perfect in my hand. I can deploy the blade very easily and I can close the blade just as easily. It came very sharp and I hope that it stays sharp... time and use will tell. I don't want to start babbling so bottom line for me this is my new EDC.
