These are great. Heavy Duty at its best
These are great. Heavy Duty at its best. A flat surface to use as a hammer or to be hit with a hammer. Super easy to grab the fastner and roll it out

Of all the Knipex tools I own, I panic when I can't find these right away.
Did I use them and then lose them? Leave them on a job somewhere? Somebody steal them from my bag? I can usually back track and find them again or they turn up at some point but that doesn't stop the anxiety I get when I think about having to replace them with another pair. Or I'm forced to use something else when I know that THIS tool is perfect for the job. When in doubt, hold this tool in your hand and I bet some idea will pop into your head on how to complete the task you're staring at using these amazing end-cut pliers. Once you get the "feel" of how to use this tool, the possibilities are endless. I mostly use these for nail or staple removal but it's a delicate dance between rolling the tool and easily removing the nail whole or snipping it off completely, trying to grab another bite or flipping the tool over and using the little hammer to drive whats left back into the wood. Both will happen and both are acceptable outcomes. The cutters are sharp and precise when the blades meet the material to be cut off. It takes a minute to develop the proper feel for gripping and not snipping but the second you roll that tool on the curved side then cleanly and easily remove that nail; you'll be hooked. Comfortable in the hand and every sub-tool beyond the actual cutting heads included on these pliers are not only a useful addition but work flawlessly and as intended.I've been very impressed with most of the Knipex tools purchased but when you feel the panic and unsettled feeling in the pit of your stomach because you cannot immediately put your hand on this tool, you'll better understand this review and why you have to find them. This Knipex tool never disappoints and I'm positive will become a much coveted tool in your bag. Others may "covet" it too so keep an eye on them and remember to put them back in their proper place or you too will begin watching the price fluctuation for the right time to purchase a replacement set. Thankfully, they have always turned up before I've pulled the trigger on another pair but if there was a Knipex tool I wouldn't mind having 2 of; this is the one! Rip the band-aid off quickly and add to cart!

Nail puller
I use these pliers to pull nails from salvaged wood and siding. They work very well in tight spots and save a lot of time. I like the hammer head side of the pliers so when I need to I don't have to switch tools just to hammer on a chisel to remove wood around a embedded nail.

Great demolition tool and pullers. Do not anticipate cutting anything larger than trim nails
Alright, we have all seen Morgan's maintenance videos on this tool. His primary use of this tool was to replace a small hammer in his tool bag working maintenance and remove small trim nails. So what can we expect from this? If you're an professional framer and carpenter, you can likely skip this review because you most likely know what this tool is all about. This is for all the people with money burning in their pockets and a tool obsession. This is an excellent puller for finish nails, brad nails, etc that are NOT screws. These are the GOAT for pulling small nails. Keep in mind these word BEST when the nail is PARTIALLY fastened to the material, eg it will not work pulling nails that are 100% flush with the material. 8'' is a compact size but the trade off is the expectation to need to reset more frequently while rocking a longer nail out.Although I mentioned you cannot back out screws (They have too much holding power) it can absolutely bite into the base of a partially embedded screw, allowing you to rotate it out (Similar to the twingrip knipex, but again the grip is a bit wide and awkward to manuever screws out, but works in a pinch)What these are NOT are excellent cutters. These are NOT design to cut anything that is larger than trim screw or very thin wires without two hands and straining enough to produce a hernia. The leverage is not there for this tool. The grip is straight and wider than the 61 01 200 variant (Which is hard to appreciate without a direct side by side comparison, but just look at the two tools and you will see) and the rivet is too far from the cutting end to maximize closing force. But this wide grip is what allows you to rock / roll the fastener out rather than cut it, so the grip isn't a flaw its part of the design. In order to avoid damaging the material, I often rock and pull the nail ontop of a flat puddy scraper.Hammer function. For very very light duty hammering, this works well. It's flat and wide head. But The grip is wide, awkward, and too lightweight to be used for anything moderate that would require a hammer.Summary:These are 100% a demolition tool. The main purpose of this tool is to help BACK OUT/REMOVE PARTIALLY EMBEDDED FASTENERS and allows you to do some light hammering. They cannot be used to remove fully embedded fasteners, you'd be better off using a cats paw and hammer. For an excellent summary of its intended use, check out The Honest Carpenter on youtube for a video called "This tool helps remove stubborn nails + Fasteners"

Best puller I have
These really aren't cutters. If you are buying then for cutting nails you will be disappointed. They are awesome pullers though. The jaws can grab even the tiniest protrusion of a nail and allow you to roll it right out. They work much better for that than the traditional end cutters that I have been using. I'm not sure whether I'm disappointed that they don't cut because sometimes traditional end cutters will cut a nail that I'm trying to pull. So . . . could be a mixed blessing.
