Botanicum Coloring Book: Special Edition (Maria Trolle)

This is a beautiful book. The quality is incredible; it has a hard cover, the pages are cream not stark white and a few pages are cream image on a black background which is a really nice change. The paper is very good, quite a heavy weight so it is possible to layer colour without being afraid of damaging it although as a pencil colourist I cannot vouch for whether these books are suitable to colour with markers.The images, as you may expect, are mainly horticultural and there is a plant register in the back of the book that is helpful for those who would like to use authentic colours for each flower. There is a lovely touch of whimsy about the pictures too, tiny dragons flit about, gnomes and fairies hide in the foliage. Animals and birds feature in abundance - cats, bunnies, foxes, mice, hedgehogs, deer, owls, also a few pretty girls but they are quaintly old fashioned which is rather nice.This is probably my favourite of the Maria Trolle books so I have actually bought a second copy. I have all of her books and all of the Hanna Karlzon ones because I love the work of the Swedish artists and the quality of these hardback volumes is sublime.

It’s so beautiful! Every page is so magical! Only reason it’s 4* is that every person in it is white! There are one or two girls I managed to make poc but I would have loved more diversity! Lost the 5 stars for that reason, cottage core etc themed things really lack diversity. Fairies aren’t just white!

The book itself is amazing. I absolutely love the drawings in this book. Such a good quality. The quality of the paper is so good, the facy that is hardcover shows again such a good quality. I definitely recommend this book to anyone really.On the other hand, my book cover came damaged and scrapped. I am not happy about this as I like my new books to be intact/brand new shape just as described by the seller.

I am a fan of this series of books.However I find the paper in the English version of all Maria Trolle books far inferior to the paper of the Dutch edition - for all mediums. Something in my opinion also true of Hanna Karlzon books!

This adults colouring book is absolutely gorgeous. The drawn pictures to colour are so detailed and so cute! Nice thick pages aswell so no issue with the colour running.
