Q: Will the 150 says max tip size is .015 but will it work with a .017 tip. Most exterior paint I have looked at calls for the bigger tip.

Thank you for reaching out to us. .017 HEA spray tip will fit your Control Pro 150 but the .017 HEA spray tip designed to work with Control Pro 170 that has a stronger motor. No, this will work into 1-gallon containers just the same.

Q: Can you use this for furniture paint projects? or is it too powerful? Looking for a versatile painter for both walls and furniture/cabinet projects.

This sprayer will work fine for furniture and cabinets. I don't know if I'd set it up for just a single small project, such as a single chair, etc. but it will lay on a good smooth coat of paint.
