Dell OptiPlex 7020 i5 4570 3.2 GHz 16GB 240GB SSD + 1TB HDD HDMI Win 10 Pro (Renewed)

I bought this as a backup machine for my home laptop, I've been doing more and more freelance work in the last year and realised that I now need a reliable second machine "just in case". After a LOT of shopping around and contemplating a self-build, I bought this based on the low price and the strong reviews.The computer arrived very well packaged in a protective air-bubble sleeve (within a box), with the USB wi-fi adapter (with driver CD) and power lead included. The machine itself is like new, no signs of use, no dust - hard to believe it's ever been used before. Turning it on launched straight into the Windows 10 setup routine (set region / keyboard / connect to a network / privacy settings etc). After loading Windows for the first time I used Disk Manager to format the 1TB standard HDD (the SSD is the boot drive), installed the wi-fi drivers, loaded some anti-virus software and did some Windows updates.It's reassuring to have a DVD-RW drive even though everything's gone to digital downloads in the last few years, I still have plenty of DVDs that I can now make use of. One slight drawback is there's no HDMI port, so I bought a "display port to HDMI" cable for about £7 which has solved that problem. The only other thing I might add is a USB bluetooth adapter so I can use my bluetooth keyboard with it. Obviously it's not a gaming machine due to on-board graphics but it'll probably run older games like OpenRA well enough.The machine is fast and smooth, everything works perfectly, its compact size means it'll sit under the desk without getting in the way. For the money, it's a fantastic bargain - I can't recommend this highly enough.

Excellent value. I am familiar with Dell hardware and find it to be typically reliable and have good performance. The system arrived very quickly and extremely well packed and although sold as refurbished was virtually indistinguishable from new.The performance is excellent. It is fast and very very quiet. Twin display port connectors allow dual monitors without further hardware and the available graphics options allow for setting up displays to your personal preferences. The unit arrived without any WiFi capability and the subsequently purchased USB dongle did not perform well however using the Ethernet connection has proved rock solid and blisteringly fast easily achieving gigabit speeds.The system boots and runs very quickly thanks to the SSD drive and i5 processor and the additional fast 1TB drive allows great in-built storage.I feel this unit will give long service but will return to this vendor without hesitation if I need further hardware.

I've only had it for five days, but so far it's been nothing short of excellent. With all the RAM (16GB) you'd expect it to be fast, and it certainly is. My old computer started to really struggle after my upgrade to Windows 10 a few years ago, but I muddled through as it was doing what I wanted, albeit slowly. But with this machine, I'm flying through tasks which seemed to take an eternity before. My Opera browser opens immediately, even with several tabs open from my previous session, and watching Netflix and YouTube in full screen is done effortlessly, each running without a hitch for hours at a time.I have consoles so have little interest in PC gaming, but from my experience of playing Sims 4 on PC I'd imagine it would run fine. For under £200 this is an excellent purchase. Windows 10 installed and updated in minutes, and it took only an hour to take the computer from its box, set it up, pair Bluetooth headphones (via a dongle, sold separately) and have most of my favourite apps downloaded and running. Mine came with a Wi-Fi dongle, but simply because of personal preference I use an ethernet cable, so I can't comment on the Wi-Fi aspect.I'd been planning on buying a much more pricey machine for £400-£500, but I'm glad I got this instead. That's two or three hundred quid I can spend on other things. Connected to my big television, it's the centre for my home entertainment, with only Blu Rays requiring a separate player (in my case, my PS4 Pro).Highly recommended.

This refurbished PC desktop box was the best money I'd spent for years. I cannot recommend this company enough.Dell build excellent desktop boxes for commercial use. This one is a 2014 model that the company have checked and rebuilt. I needed to build myself a new desktop as I was fed up with using laptops for work during the COVID lockdowns. This provided the core box that I needed. You get a dual drive - HDD 7200 rpm and a 250GB SSD - both good brands, which is excellent value alone. It also comes with a fresh install of the OS, so you just need to set up your admin ID when you start it for the first time.It's a slightly older motherboard and chipset but fast enough with a i5 processor. It's small form factor, so you have 2 x PCIe slots free (full size, though it's tight clearance near the p/s). I comes with native VGA and DP for the monitor but I fitted a good graphics card to get HDMI and another PCIe card with bluetooth and wireless. It comes with 4 x front USBs and 5 x rear USB3, plus sound jacks sockets and even old serial port if you want it. There's even a decent CD-RW drive too.And it's all in a nice robust box. Well done!
