L'Oreal Paris Summer Lights Hair Lightening Gelee, Light Blonde to Dark Blonde

When the pandemic hit I wasn’t sure what I was going to do about my hair as I’m used to getting bayalage highlights at the salon. I had even warned my husband that he’d be called on to help highlight my hair. After reading the reviews, I decided to give this product a try. Wow! It’s so easy to use and I’m no longer worried about my hair looking drab this summer. I went to the salon a couple of weeks ago to get a twenty minute cut (instead of a ninety minute highlight) and my even my stylist commented on how good my hair still looked. (I haven’t broken the news to her yet.) It’s a fraction of the cost and time than getting my hair highlighted professionally, and I think the results are on par. You can use as much or as often as needed to get the results you desire. And every time I use it I’m ecstatic to think of how much money I’m saving!

I JUST received this product and did a test on 2 decently sized sections on the under part of my hair. It smells really good actually, no chemical smell, good gel texture and, like it says, you can just put it in and go about your day. You cannot even tell it is in your hair at all. It WORKS! On my 2 test spots I used my hair dryer on high heat (I have a powerful hair dryer too) and within only a minute or 2 I noticed lightening. I wasn't trying to make it blonde blonde just to give it a test to make sure it wasn't brassy and it isn't. NO BRASS AT ALL! I cannot wait to use this in the sun. I use the John Frieda Go Blonder spray but didn't like how it doesn't give you much control, with this product you have total control whether you want all over lightening or just more a highlighted look. I was the bottle was huge lol. Love this and will be buying more!!!

I use this year round. I have purchased in the past also. I have thin hair, etc. it seems to give it more body and highlights really nicely. It doesn’t change the color. Just brightens it. I like it

I have purchased this product over the years and like the thickness of the gel for control over where I wanted to apply it. This batch was liquid, not a gel, making feel like it was just watered down… not cool for an expensive product.

While I see some lightening, it is not conditioning as stated on the tube. It will dry your hair and make it staticky. I found with my low porosity hair this works best when applied wet and when exposed to sunlight. It did nothing on dried hair. I am almost done with the tube.The pictures are not taken in the same lighting. I think they exaggerated the color change. No one has noticed my hair catches the light more. I'd say this makes hair a little more luminous.

I would recommend this product based on both value and results. I have naturally dark blonde hair and have been using this product once a week for several months. It has definitely helped lighten my hair but in a natural, golden blonde way. I use it in conjunction with a lightening shampoo and conditioner by a different brand, but Summer Lights has boosted the results considerably compared to when I just used in-shower products. In addition, drying my hair with this on also seems to increase its effectiveness (since heat usually activates products like this). It's also much easier to use indoors than other leave-in products since you don't have to spray anything.

After spending $225 at the salon to come home and hate how my hair came out I ordered this product on a whim. I’ve used it twice and people are asking me where I get my color done. My blonde is beautiful and yes we have more fun!

I've been using it for approximately one week. I have light brown hair with blonde highlights and can notice it is lightening my hair and adding highlights which was my goal. I partially blow dry my hair, add this product, then fully blow dry it. I haven't noticed any damage or dryness and it's super easy to apply. I am thinking about adding a purple shampoo to my routine to tone it once I'm blonder.
