This is a very nicely made speed controller for smaller fans
This is a very nicely made speed controller for smaller fans. The "Off" position is a positive click located at 7 o'clock. Turning the knob clockwise starts it out at full speed then diminishes as you continue turning. The product description fails to point out that the minimum speed is adjustable by turning a small set-screw that limits the rotation of the knob. This is useful so that you don't lower the controlled fan below its stall speed under load, which could be damaging.

They changed the font, so it doesn't have that old-school lettering anymore, just your standard all caps. We were disappointed as that was our primary reason for purchasing this particular fan control.

Says soler and palau but kb electronics inside.

2-Speed Rocker Switch Better Option
causes the inline fan to 'hum'. "Technician at Soler and Palau told me "that is normal when you use a speed controller with this type of fan." If you want speed control, would recommend a 2-speed rocker switch instead - the S&P fans have a LO / HI setting (2 speeds).
